Went to visit Whitter while in Anchorage, and looked for a place for lunch. Very good, and enjoyed sitting in the patio area, overlooking the harbor.

We had Fish and Chips.......BEST I've had in Alaska (I'm from here!)
VERY friendly owner and waitstaff = BEST Service!
Wonderful treat to find.
Note: this is local at its best....fresh seafood.....not fancy, but very comfortable.

Best Clam Chowder we have had in Alasksa so far. Friendly staff. Great service. From the oohs and ahhs around us I assume their fish and chips is good also. Will try that tonight!

Sweet people here to take your order and serve you with great food! We had the Halibut and chips, crab cakes, and for my non-seafood eating son-chicken strips. Everything was tasty and flavorful, a true delight. We also purchased some t-shirts by Dr Ray Troll- unique and awesome- not your typical tourist t-shirt! The small restaurant has an outdoor eating area overlooking the marina with an inside area that is, of course, decorated in a marine motif. We had our lunches boxed to go and ate them in line for the tunnel. The prices were not too bad as far as seafood goes, it was pretty well in line with the rest of the lower 48 states. You won't be disappointed if you choose this spot, I daresay the locals frequent the place as well!

We go to Whittier every year when we are in Alaska to visit family. The kids love the tunnel. This is the first time we have eaten in Whittier and we were not sorry. You MUST have the clam chowder. It was amazing. We also had the halibut and shrimp basket, crab cakes and chicken fingers. We shared it between the 5 of us and it was plenty. The service was great. We really felt welcomed. The owner was so friendly and she chatted with us between the rush. There was a cruise ship in port so they were very busy, but we got our food pretty quick. Not a lot of seating (picnic table style, right on the harbor) but it's a small place and we found a great table. The atmosphere is fun. This is a great little local place in a small fishing town. We will definitely return every year and I can't wait until next time!
