We were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and roominess of our junior suite. The owner has thought of everything you could possibly want/need including full coffee service/dishes/breakfast/information book/lots of lights and personal touches and a fireplace. Plenty of room to spread out (two luggage racks!)and we liked watching the on site domesticated reindeer. Only negatives were that we could hear the man next door snoring during the night through the wall and the same man spent quite a bit of time smoking just outside our window....really can't blame that on the owner. I'd stay here again for sure, it was overall very nice and I loved the unique stone artwork on the walls and the stone tables. Very comfortable suite with a lot of thought going into what a traveler might need.

We stopped here on our way back from Denali. The room was exceptionally clean, the bed very comfortable and it was nice to have coffee and muffins in our room the next morning. The wall is thin as we could hear the people in the room next door until they quit talking about 11:00. There is a book in the room that has a great amount of information about things to do and where to eat in the area. The reindeer were right outside our bedroom and we did not especially care for that view although we did enjoy watching them. We live in the country and it was too much like looking at animal pastures here at home just different animals. I have no complaints and while this has many nice things about it I would only recommend this to someone who was used to B&Bs and wanted to stay in Wasilla.

We stayed at the Agate Inn in the king suite. The pictures in their ad are accurate. It is tucked away in the wood but convenient to everything. The bed was very comfortable, the room large and very clean. Don't worry about being a late check-in. They have a nifty keypad lockbox where they leave your keys with any information you may need. Sandy has a book with information for any type of activity, any area restaurant and more in each room. If you can't chose, she will make recommendations. She recommended two restaurants in town, both were very good. The room was very large with a fireplace, a shower and a whirlpool tub. There is a mini frig which they restock with milk, OJ, and muffins each day. There are two types of ceral to chose from. There is a microwave also. A coffee maker with coffee is on the counter. There is a basket with hot chocolate and teas also. The room had two lazy boys and a TV---just a great comfortable place. If you let them know you would like to feed the reindeer, you can meet them during the morning or afternoon and join in. It was great fun. The wooded area the reindeer have to room wraps around the property, so you may look out your window and see one or two grazing. They have washing machines/dryers on the premises for you to use which came in handy. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again or recommend it to everyone!

A easy place to stay. It has everything you need. We stayed in two different rooms due to the nature and timing of our trip but the agate inn was consistant, comfortable and clean

I completely concur with JudgeJR. I wasn’t sure what to expect in Alaska but was pleasantly surprised and the quality, size and cleanliness of these rooms. The bed was extremely comfortable with quality sheets (a benchmark in my mind). The bathroom beat every “standard” motel I had ever been in with its size, a large shower and a Jacuzzi tub. The room was very clean – even in the corners where you may expect to find some dust.

If you’re going to Wasilla, it is in a great location albeit a little difficult to find at first. A large neon sign on the main road would perhaps be a bit out of place. Once you find the road off the main highway, you’ll wonder if you’ve arrived at the Inn. There isn’t a whole lot of pizzazz to the appearance on the outside. Fine, I don’t plan on sleeping on the outside. Nor do I intend on sleeping in a foyer, of which there is none. The rooms make up for that and I couldn’t have been happier.

An additional attraction beside the array of minerals, crystals and rocks adorning the Inn are the reindeer. We joined in with their evening feeding and as animal lovers, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. These larger cousins to the deer actually respond to their names!

All five stars except on service – I didn’t need any so I really don’t know and on location, it is a bit hard to find at first.

We carefully research everywhere we go and there isn’t too many other choices in Wasilla. Fortunately, you can go wrong with the Agate Inn.

The quarters were even better than they looked on the internet with spacious excellent room, separate bathroom facilities to the side, different types of chairs.
Minus: hard to find, thankfully we called for directions, but it is very close to major road off state highway - Wasilla - Palmer Road.
We enjoyed reindeer feeding.

the last stop of our alaska trip landed us in wasilla, rates much better than that of anchorage, we arrived at agate inn , we had reservations and had seen the pictures on line, but the actual place is even more inviting than the pictures, we arrived in time to help round up the reindeer, which was fun, learned a lot from the host and hostess about reindeer , our rooms were spacious and so warm and cozy, you just wanted to stay there forever, our little fridge was stocked with juice and milk and a contiental breakfast for the morning, although i cheated and ate 1/2 a muffin before bed, the bathroom was beautiful a jetted tub, all marble, with great gold fixtures, the walk in shower was just as inviting, then we had two big lounge chairs in our room that were super comfy, all the tables were fossil rock, everything was unique , its a super place, the only thing was the tv did not get local channels, that would have made it a perfect place, but even without local channels i would return in a hearbeat should i ever get back to wasilla, ak
