“Nice stop to learn about Alaska”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

The Iditarod Headquarters is a great little stop to kill an hour or two. They have a great gift shop, full of souveniers, as well as a free movie to watch with a lot of historical information. I definitely recommend taking the ride with the dogs. It's a short ride, but just a really great experience all around and worth the money. It's something you can't do anywhere else.

“Open year round”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

The movie shown this year was particularly long. I got tired and left towards the end of it. It was nice to look around inside. They had memorabilia and stuff about each of the Iditarod winners.

“If you visit the Iditarod, be sure to stop here”
Reviewed March 9, 2013

We didn't have long to spend there, but they have all the Iditarod official souvenirs, some past posters, etc., DVD's (one was showing about why the dogs run & we bought that) & a couple of the famous sled dogs (taxidermy) are on display as well as historic info. Books, etc. Probably the best collection we saw of Iditarod souvenirs, info. Restrooms & friendly staff. Be sure to take a photo by the sign out front! It's on the way to the official start of the race (or the re-start as it is called since the Ceremonial Start is the day before in downtown Anchorage.)

“Just outside Wasilla”
Reviewed February 27, 2013

I liked the movie shown. It definitely gave both the pros and cons of the Iditarod. I wish there had been a bigger museum. Gift shop was nice. There were sled dogs outside that you could take a ride with, but it didn't look inviting.
