Hotel in Valdez steered us to the Totem Inn. We got off the ferry and needed a place for dinner.
The staff was great. They were very busy but they were very quick to take our order. In no time the food was on the table. We only got burgers but they were really good. Had a good nights sleep and back there for breakfast the next morning before jumping back on the motorcycle.
The prices were fair (for Alaska), food good, service GREAT.

The place is interesting, cool, warm! The food is tasty, halibut, salmon, crab... we appreciated everything! The service is fast and everyone knows exactly what to do.

We had dinner at the Totem Inn one night while staying in Valdez. They have a wide variety of food. I had the homemade alfredo sauce over noodles with shrimp ~ wonderful!! Our waitress was Hannah ~ she was awesome! They also have a great gift shop!

Good selection on the menu! We were seated right away. Waiter came over to get our drink and appetizer order. Gave us time to look the menu over. Kept a good eye on our drinks and brought over new ones when ready....dinner was delicious and couldnt askfor a better waiter.

We ate a late afternoon meal at this restaurant. My husband and I both had the halibut appetizer and added the all you can eat soup and a salad bar. The halibut portion on the appetizer was the same size as the dinner meal portion which is 5 ounces. It was prepared in a beer batter which was had a very strong beer flavor. (While good, the beer flavor over-powered the delicate flavor of the fish. The salad bar was delicious in that fresh veggies, in restaurants in AK seem non-existent. The selection of toppings was also very good. The salad bar had Clam Chowder, which was homemade and certainly the highlight of the meal. I don't know if this was a normal selection, or if this soup was merely a Friday selection. We were 'amused' by the decor in that it was typically Alaskan - nicely done animal mounts with display cases of varying trinkets that were meant to appeal to a variety of tastes. (Remember this is a town driven by tourism!!). We enjoyed our meal and while it conformed with the high prices we have paid elsewhere, the food was better. We will try breakfast before leaving town.
