Had a good coupon for buy one night get one free so we stayed 2 nights Have to comment that they had also just opened a few days before Our arrival .
There is very Limited Parking and hours to get food & drinks.
Room was clean and nice but NO COFFEE POT,& VERY SMALL TV WITH BAD RECEPTION One can assume they probaly want you to buy it @ there exspresso spot for more income and many people dont watch tv when on adventure vacations.
For the prices of the rooms you'd think they do a little more upgrading.
Food was good but nothing spectacular & not many choices allot of the workers are tourist themselves so we knew more about the area then them so to make a long storie short If your an Alaskan this probally isnt the place for you It is a clean place & full of tourist including the workers but does have an awesome view of McKinley from the back deck.

Room Tip: Want coffee when you wake up bring your own pot and something to do in your room while relaxing

We stayed at the Lodge with my partner, We were given a wonderful room as part of our tour, The restuarants were great for eating & dinning as well, The walks around the wilderness lodge were great and great view as well. If you have time, i would recommend you stay here and enjoy the views.

This is a very clean and reasonable hotel. It has fantastic riding trails, lodge sitting areas and the best view of Mt. McKinley around. It is excellent for families as well. We were able to get the room for 3 for $89 per night. Incredible given the high prices in Alaska. Also, it is only a 2 hour drive from Anchorage. It is only open from May-September as many places in the area are.

My wife and I stayed at the Mt. McKinley Princess lodge on July 20-21st. We were in bldg 20 which was one of the newer bldgs. The reason I gave it 3 stars for sleep quality is that there is no AC in the rooms. But... it does cool to around 48-50 degrees at night and it was really not that much of a problem, once the room cools down. They also have ceiling fans and a floor fan that helps a lot. Bldg. 20 was one of the bldgs. that was pretty far from the main lodge. However, we really enjoyed the walk in the mornings and evenings to and from the main lodge, vs. taking a shullte that the lodge provides. The grounds are very pretty, and the morning temps. were perfect!
We ate at the Mountain View and the 30,320 restaurants for our two dinners. We found that the service was very good at both places. Reservations for the Mountain View are recommended. At times the Grizzly Bar was crowded, but the service always seemed timely when we were there. There is also a little coffee shop, that we went to each morning. Again, there was a line one morning, but it moved very quickly.

You hear about the 30% club and Mt. McKinley. That is because 70% of the time the mountain is shrouded with clouds. We were very blessed to have two perfect weather days in a row!! I have attached a picture that I took when we were on our flight seeing tour with Talkeetna Air Taxi. Our pilot, Brad, kept saying..."you have no idea how lucky you are...". We also landed on a glacier and had a spectacular time just taking in the views and the beauty.

It is true that there is not that much to do around the lodge itself. But taking the shuttle over to Talkeetna takes about 50 minutes, and there are plenty of excursions to choose from. If excursions are not on your schedule, just going over to Talkeetna and walking around the town is very much worth the trip.

We stayed at Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge for two nights as part of a Princess Cruises land tour on July 21 and July 22, and were lucky enough to have two days of clear skies and clear views of Mt. McKinley. The views are spectacular, and the hotel rooms, while reasonably spartan, were perfectly adequate. The front desk staff was friendly, and they went out of their way to keep us apprised of the status of a suitcase that had been waylaid somewhere along the way by Princess.

The hotel is located an hour away (by the Princess shuttle) from the town of Talkeetna, so it's pretty remote. That means most meals during your stay will be in one of the 3 on-site restaurants. And that's where my rating for the facility slides down. We ate at the Mountain View Restaurant and the Cub Cafe. Both had wonderful views of Mt. McKinley, but that's the best I can say about either one of them. We had eaten the night before at the King Salmon restaurant at the Denali Princess Lodge, where I had a wonderfully cooked salmon dish. Unfortunately, at the Mountain View restaurant, the food was mediocre, at best. On top of that, the service was worse than mediocre. I don't blame the workers, who seemed very nice. But it was clear that the training was very lacking. They didn't seem to know the basics of how to do their job. Management seemed very detached. The contrast with the Denali Princess was interesting. There, the front desk staff was poorly trained and managed, but the restaurant staff was wonderful.

All in all, it's a great place to view Mt. McKinley, but don't go there expecting a 4- or 5-star experience.

If you're debating staying at the My McKinley Lodge vs. the Denali Princess there is no debate. The McKinley Lodge is situated up in the mountains with a great view of Mt. McKinley! Lots of walking paths and nice staff. We drove past the park and up to Cantwell, saw the Denali Princess and we both looked at each other saying we made the right choice! The Denali Princess is right on the main road with no mountain to be seen!
The food was average but there are 3 restaurants on the property.

Room Tip: The room was a nice size. I had asked for a king bed but upon arrival all that was available were 2...
