McKinley View B&B

Great spot for views of Mt McKinley from afar. Very nice rooms. Great breakfast. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Adequate parking. Main floor has the breakfast area and a kitchen area for the guests. A tall mini fridge, microwave, sink available for use. She also has paper plates, etc stocked.

Room Tip: Book a north facing room to get early morning clear views of the mountain.

Our stay at McKinley View B&B was wonderful! Renee was very friendly and put us right at ease (we hadn't stayed at a B&B before.) She told us places we might go to view wildlife and good places to eat in the surrounding area. We stayed in the Moose room. The bed was the most comfortable we had ever been on, including our own. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of food. Renee fixed a different meal each day. We enjoyed her company and that she shared stories about their experiences and ones told to her by friends. The view was fantastic! We are part of that lucky percentage that got to see Mt. McKinley. We were able to see it three days in a row from the deck at our back door. Wonderful, wonderful stay!

Room Tip: The Moose room is a good choice. It is at the back of the B&B which faces Mt. McKinley.

We only stayed here for one night but would have stayed more after knowing how nice it was. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. The view from the back porch on our room gave the best view of McKinley we had on the trip. Only 1 out 3 nights will have that view though. The house itself sat on land that had wildlife. My girlfriend saw a fox, and the other couple there saw a moose.

Room Tip: There are only two rooms I believe.

Renee met us at the door - she is warm and friendly. Felt like we were staying with friends. Gave us a tour of the B&B - once settled she was helpful in finding a place to grab a quick meal. We brought back Subway and sat in the common room - it was the first time in our trip where we sat & relaxed, and ate our meal not in a restaurant - felt like home.
We stayed in the Moose room - the most comfy bed yet, decorated simply, yet tastefully with a moose theme, awesome shower, great TV, free wifi. Our breakfast was delicious - quite a spread of eggs, ham, bacon, hash browns, toast with a variety of home made jams AND great conversation. Renee shared some great stories about living in AK, esp the wildlife, transportation in the winter time, fishing, hunting, berry picking - we were sad to leave.

Room Tip: We were very happy with Moose room, has own private entrance in back with a deck and seating to sit...

I agree exactly with the other comments. Gracious and friendly hosts, great breakfast, great setting. Just a wonderful place to stay. My wife and I stayed there in the bear room July 7th & 8th 2012, the weather was not good for 2 days. But on the morning we were leaving to go down south to the Kenai the weather changed overnight and the morning dawned bright and clear. The view of the Mountain was spectacular and we became members of the 30% club.

Angela's Heaven is a place "NOT TO BE MISSED" just up the road a couple of miles on the right (115mm). From the road it doesn't look like much, but don't let that fool you. One inside, it's clean, warm and friendly, great, great food! Angela was very busy when we were there but she took the time to explain everything to us. Just a wonderful lady.

We stayed here for one night on our way from Denali to Seward and wished we could have stayed longer. We had a room facing Denali and the lovely view at the back of the house. Our room led directly on to a deck where we just sat and watched the birds and wildlife - and would have liked time to take a walk. The room was spotlessly clean and breakfast was ample and good. The only snag was that we hit the one night when the local pizza restaurant was closed - so we opted to take the drive to Talkeetna.

This B&B is just off the highway, but gives a real remote feel in location. A great way to break up the trip from the Anchorage area or MatSu Valley to Fairbanks, the McKinley View B&B exceeded all expectations with a very comfortable room, modern bath, great TV selection variety, free WiFi, kitchen/common room with TV (restaurant choices in Trapper Creek are slim to none in off season), delicious, hearty breakfast, and friendly hosts who are happy to visit and share local knowledge. Seems like thay have thought of everything you might want or need!
