Royal Brayka Marsa Alam
We stayed from the 10-10-2012 until the 24-10-2012 and had a fabulous time the hotel is a new build and is well laid out rooms large and well equipped the beach is lovely and the underwater world is in my opinion better than the Maldives coral and fish life excellent we saw two dolphin’s swim past use about 4 Mt’s away on the north reef moray eels lion fish and a turtle as well as an eagle ray and all the normal red sea fish life brill
Staff all willing to help special thanks to Lucy customer relations always on hand to help and TAMER in the bar maid our out of the water holiday they are both an asset to the hotel big thanks to Ghalib hotel manager for his help
Food of a good standard but need to cater for the English more BBQ every night except when wet we had rain and a fantastic thunder storm first rain in two years the staff loved it
Look out for scorpion desert safari the red quad bike look alike on the beach between the towel hut and the bar brilliant service and the trip in to the desert on quads was outstanding and good value
All in all a brilliant holiday will go back if not out priced by the holiday company as this area is definitely the up and coming resort

Room Tip: we were in 2171 and frends in 2169 good View

Returned 10 October 12 after a wonderful relaxing two week stay at Royal Brayka. Hot towels and drinks on arrival, speedy check in. Staff are welcoming and friendly, nothing being too much trouble for them. Particular thanks to Ayman in the Restaurant, Ahmed on the Pool Bar and especially Lucy everywhere for enhancing our holiday. As the Hotel is predominantly Italian and czech some staff have a limited understanding of English but we get by. The rooms ars spacious and very clean. The food is plentiful and varied with the pasta dishes being exceptionally good. The Hotel is very new and is not yet fully opened. The beach is good with easy access to the sea. Animation is not over the top and aimed at the Italian guests, best to avoid the shows IMO, we took advantage of the facilities at the neighbouring Brayka Bay Hotel in the evenings as the atmosphere was better. The lack of English guests is not a put off. They advertise a dress code for dinner but do not enforce it.This was out third time in Egypt and the best Hotel we have stayed in so far. We would certainly recommend it and return if possible.

Room Tip: Thomson guests are all housed on the ground floor, if you do not want one of these rooms email the H...

Stayed at the Brayka Royal ( 15/08/12 - 29/08/12) this hotel is new and still needs time to settle in, the grounds are large and connect to the sister hotel Brayka Bay which is long established ( 10 yrs+) you are allowed to use facilities here as well. The Royal has 4 slides in the large pool which open for a period in the morning and again in the afternoon, not wild and crazy but the Kids seems to enjoy them. They have 3 pools but generally use 1 main pool with a swim up bar, the other 2 are not always in use and the Largest pool did not have sun loungers or sun umbrellas and again the pool bar was not in use, The pools are already losing tiles from the sides and bottom of the pool, you will need to beware as you can cut toes quite easy. The staff however are very attentive both in the Restaurant (Ayman,Ahmed and a few others) at the pool bar Alaa Din had us laughing all the time with his version of a London accent and Rami with his football chat. Tamar is in the Lounge Bar upstairs for the evening drinks and service is his priority. Food buffet is OK not always a lot of taste but edible, Pasta station is busy most times good quality, BBQ food every night as an option, deserts are OK some very sweet and sugary. Breakfast fried egg on toast done very well if you can wait for the toast machine to brown the bread.
Most rooms have a sea view and they are clean. We had an issue with the location of our room and this was sorted out with in the hour of arrival to a family room, good size room and air conditioning that worked well. Wi-fi is not FREE!! although we had been told it was and also there is no BANKING facility ( 5Km Taxi ride if you need Cash) and the hotel charge 5% extra for card transaction of any type. The House reef is good and you get Turtles, Lion Fish, Crocodile fish and all the usual types of Red Sea reef fish in fairly shallow warm waters, best time for snorkeling is 6-6.30AM. Emperor Diving and the boats ISA and AMY have a great crews, book your diving from the UK website to save money, they will arrange collection from the Hotel, generally within 10 mins of the arranged time. Elphinstone is Awesome! but you will need Advance or a special deep dive certification, sometimes they ask for min 30- 50 open water dives before letting you on this site, Well worth the visit seeing x4 Hammerheads playing a Silky stalking in the distance, on the way home a chance to get in with a whale shark AWESOME! the Seacow and Turtles are amazing to watch graze on sea grass. Hamada Wreck is fascinating to see, although a shore dive in 40C+ and little shade, thought the generally sealife activity was smaller than northern Egypt but still good. The Marsa Alam resort is a predominately Italian resort followed by Czech and Polish. We made some good friends on this holiday, Little England was formed in the Lounge Bar of the hotel and regularly played in the pool with the kids ( including 2 other European Nations who became honorary Brits for a few days before we had to leave for home.) would also recommend the ATV's in the desert - we book the 3 hour excursion to see coral and sand mountain, Glass mountain with a stop for sunset and a Baudouin experience. See Mohammed who has a bald head, in a coffee latte moto safari t-shirt he speaks good English. They are based on the Beach at both hotels and are also wandering around the Pools. The best €45 for afternoon fun. The other excursion was the Oceans Tour to see Sea cows, Octopus, turtles and Dolphins, not a grantee but we had the best day out, a good lunch on the Boat - €40 for the day and extra €20 for a Mini-b try dive for the Kids with a guide or Scuba try dives for Adults all with Mustapha a great guide from Emperor. Not recommend is the Horse Riding - My Daughter booked this and was explained that they will gallop through the desert on Arabian horses -- She came back in Tears from what can only be described as a very underweight NAG!! that lived in a building site. We did not expect to see horses in the condition you would find at a reputable stable in the UK, but the pictures i have been shown, with the explanation for my experienced equestrian daughter of a FAT bloke on a bag of bones was not ideal, she would not even get on the Horse she was shown!!! and came back to the Hotel in a Taxi. We booked with First Choice - Alan the Rep is great....Very helpful considering First Choice did not explain everything when booking this holiday, PLEASE BE AWARE they do have a dress code for Dinner.... men are supposed to wear long trousers - However this was not enforce but again this was not highlighted when booking the holiday - it is stated in the A-Z of the contract you sign (whoever reads all the small print) Alan and I agreed to disagree on this discussion. I did not take any Trousers with me so if enforced could have been difficult. Before i go a special thanks also to Elana - who was a great help in all matters with the Hotel sorting out our issue with the room and Michela ( Kids Animation Club) who enticed the 4x Teenagers and an 8 year old to the disco along with the adults on night out to strut our funky stuff - 100%Embarrassment for the Kids......Bless.
For Henna Design Tattoos see Ehad in the Brayka Bay Herbal shop or by the Towel Stand on the Brayka Bay Beach great designs all free hand - Timing is not a strong point but worth the wait. The Holiday is what you make of it we have been lucky with the people we meet and activities we have taken. Sorry for jumping around in the blurb typing as i thought of things you can get the general idea.

Room Tip: Dont pay extra for Sea views nearly all rooms have this. rooms are a good size and very clean. Lots...

Just returned we stayed from the 8-8-12 till the 22-8-12. Myself my husband and our Daughter aged 8. Very welcoming staff very helpfull special thanks to the resturant manager Ayman always made sure we were seated promptly with enough water, made us feel very comftable. The hotel is brand new very clean and tidy. The water shoots are great but are only open from 9am till 11am then 3pm till 5pm. Our room was fab with great air-con very needed as wonderfull and hot, the cleaners were great cleaned everyday very friendly staff throughout. The downside is there are very few English!!! most of the hotel guests are Italian the food the entertainment the kids clubs are all for them, we sat and watched there show one night they were going through were people were from they diddnt mention the UK, saying that we met some great people and diddnt let it spoil our holiday. Michela kids club for everyone who was'nt Italian spoke good English and was very sweet with our Daughter, also special thanks to Lucy in reception very helpfull and very sweet and funny. The beach was the best thing on a scale of 1-10 it was an 11..!! The coral Reef the cleanliness of the beach very very Beautiful just had 3 underwater cameras developed amazing will always remember it. The bufett was ok but not much choice for the kids only served chips once a week and only ice cream with the evening meal most all inc hotels have snack bar with pizza chips ice creams through the day, Our Daughter lived on pasta and cheese rolls, breakfast was her best meal of the day with the eggs being cooked how you like them. All in all our first time in Egypy I would return but not to this hotel only because of the lack of English guests, we were not told about this when we booked but our rep in Egypt Alan was very helpfull and always avalable thanks Alan.

My Fiance and myself have just returned form 1 weeks All Inclusive at this Hotel. The room we stayed in was lovely, fairly big rooms which were spotlessly cleaned ever single day. We were approx 20 seconds walk to the main swimming pool and less than a 1 minute walk to the beach. The food is all served from the buffet restaurant which was all to a very good standard. There is a separate pasta station which is available every lunchtime and evening meals, this is all freshly cooked by an Italian chef. The lasagne is the best you would and will ever taste. The only downside to the hotel at this present time is the lack of air conditioning in the reception area and restaurant . All the staff were lovely , helpful and very polite. I big thank-you to all including the gen manager and Lucy . Many thanks for a great time. The beach and the reef are very beautiful and safe, water temp was 90 degrees so cool off in the showers at the back of the beach. The hotel itself is predominantly used by italien guests therefore all aspects are driven towards the italien clientele, example all the entertainment was in italien, however do not let this put you off coming here , we had a fantastic weeks holiday and wish we had booked for 2 weeks. Enjoy. Phil and Tereza Foster

Room Tip: Ground floor opposite the main pool, room numbers 1052-1068
