Another gem in the 'Experience Mor' portfolio. This is the third property we have stayed in and it did not disappoint us. Even though I initially wanted a sea view property, being besides the river was exactly what was required in terms of recharging batteries; the river and its calming tranquility are the perfect backdrop to another extremely comfortable and well designed family house. The term 'home from home' is overused but is apt for the properties from 'Experience Mor'. I don't have to think about packing everything but the kitchen sink because I know that Jonathan would have thought of it, from umpteen thick towels, even down to a pair of comfy slippers. The kitchen is a delight to cook in, even if - while on holiday- the desire to bake takes you, you will be able to find all the equipment you need to produce delicious food. However, if cooking on holiday is not your thing, the house is within easy reach of Newport and the array of pubs and good restaurants that has to offer. Newport Sands beach is an easy jog (for those that run) away and is spectacular, whatever the weather. But on those days when you just want to flop in front of the TV, the modern technology and Sky Sports kept children and husbands happy. The only downside was having to leave. But, we hope to be back again before long.

We have just spent a month here and left fully chilled out and totally rested.
The interior is lovely and has everything you will ever want or need, the kitchen has every pot,pan,utensil,2 large fridges, freezer, microwave etc etc.they really have thought of everything.
The utility off the kitchen has washer/dryer and all the bedrooms are warm and cosy with lovely bathrooms. The living room has lots of space for large families, with sky TV and log burner for great evenings together there or round the large dining room table next to it either eating or playing games.or enjoying the river view.
My particular favourite was watching the antics at the bird table from the settees as its right outside the window, filling up the feeders was a real treat as it encouraged huge amounts of Bluetits, coaltits, greatits, chaffinch,Robin, blackbird, dunnock, woodpecker, squirrels and my favourite the nuthatches to visit all day a pleasure to watch.
As a dog owner and lover the garden was great and enclosed except for the captivating river flowing freely at the bottom of the garden, loved hearing it at night with the local owls !!! Colony of bats also live in the old chimney at rear of the cottage fabulous.
Lots of great walks for dogs and dog friendly nearby beaches, woofers will be in heaven mine was.
Newport town is only 10 mins drive has everything you need for supplies, good spar,butchers,fishmongers,newsagents,2 hairdressers, tea rooms, cafe and
pharmacy. For bigger shops great tesco in cardigan 10 miles away.
Jonathan the owner is a hoot, very charming, funny and tells great stories, as we were there for a month we built up a great friendship with him, his other 2 properties ( experience mor own 7 in total, 2 more in st.davids and 2 in whitesands ) are just along from this one also furnished to the same high standard and are equally lovely catering for different size family groups. All the artwork displayed throughout the propertes are stunning and showcases the various artists work perfectly.
You really will jump out of the hustle and bustle of everyday life and get chance to unwind, relax, chill out and stop and smell the roses of life.

I'm humbled by this review. After a month it was sad to have to wave goodbye to such an appreciative family who used all our facilities to the full. Oh, there was a steamer missing in the kitchen which was duly provided for the guests who came in after Karla left

“Soggy Christmas in a perfect location”
Reviewed January 14, 2016 for a stay in December 2015

Despite the unprecented rainfall this was the perfect place to spend Christmas. A warm log fire, large and social kitchen, underfloor heating, luxurious bedrooms and loads more goodies. As always Jonathan provides a warm well and is always able to help us make the most of our stay. First class in every respect, but don't tell anyone.

Just spent a wonderful week at Dyffryn Tawel. Having stayed in a few cottages in the area over the last few years this cottage is by far the best. It's location right on the edge of the river, with beautifully kept grounds is stunning. The cottage itself is extremely well equipped and furnished to a very high standard. A very cozy and welcoming cottage worthy of its five star rating. Jonathan the owner was on hand when we arrived and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely return!

We stayed a week at this cottage in early July and it exceeded our expectations. Our main priority when booking a cottage, apart from a bit of luxury for us, is that it is completely dog friendly. Dyffren Tawel is certainly that. The beautiful garden, which was enclosed and made all the more special with the river, provided space and tranquillity for all. The towels, bedding, china, pots and pans etc were of a high standard and the beds were very comfortable. The furnishings, décor and artwork add to the cosiness of the cottage. The trail through the woods to see the Pilgrim's Cross and to Nevern to see the bleeding yew tree in the churchyard is a must, take suitable footwear. Good location for both the lovely beach at Newport Sands and for the amenities in Newport itself. Quite a few local pubs are dog friendly. Jonathan was there on our arrival and was friendly and helpful, he is approachable should you have any concerns during your stay. We will be back.

“Dyffryn Tawel - A tranquil springtime hideaway.”
Reviewed May 19, 2015 for a stay in April 2015

We enjoyed our 2 weeks stay in this tranquil riverside setting, especially the wonderful birdsong from dawn 'til dusk and the beautiful spring flowers that abound in the garden and surrounding woodland.
The cottage was everything we hoped for - warm, cosy and comfortable with many luxurious touches provided by the friendly and charming owner - woodburner, WiFi, HiFi, Sky box, DVD player, surround sound system and large flat screen TV; fluffy towels, 'Eco' friendly toiletries and superb welcome pack to mention just a few. The kitchen was a pleasure to use with cooking range and modern appliances. The en-suite master bedroom was described by our 'guests' as being equal to a 5* hotel.
We walked for miles around Nevern, Newport, Camaes Head and St. David's. Watched dolphins at New Quay, stormy seas at Llangranog and discovered Mwnt. The coastal scenery is amazing and the remote cottage location by the river Nevern delightful. Children old and young would have great fun on Poppit Sands with its large free car park and nice cafe.
We have stayed in many holiday rental properties all over the UK for years and this one takes some beating, although the other two Experience Mor properties at this location are equally impressive (Jonathan, the owner, gave us a conducted tour of both). We hope to return and next time make use of the huge BBQ to eat alfresco by the river.

I stayed at Dyffryn Tawel for 3 nights and 4 days. I have been to many lodges/cottages across northern England/wales and this is by far and away, the best one.

I booked this stay VERY last minute (around 20 hours before we arrived) and the owner, Jonathan got back to me within the first hour of my enquiring. He was very friendly and more than willing to stand and chat with us for as long as needed and answer any of our questions, very friendly chap, nothing is too much trouble. He told us this is one of 7 properties owned by "experience-môr" so we will be sure to check out the others for next time, but they will need to be extra special to beat this cottage!!

The cottage itself is set by a lovely river with beautiful gardens and decking. It has so many bedrooms and bathrooms, perfect for a romantic week or a week with the family. It is so peaceful there and was just what we both needed. 4 days of heaven away from the work emails/calls. This place is just stunning it really is. No expense has been spared on the interior too. Big TV and sky (with sky sports) with a good speed Wi-Fi also. The rooms are decorated excellently, especially the kitchen. It is huge!! Another nifty addition is the heated floor which really does help, even with the warm weather the past week has given us. Sitting outside on the decking at night was amazing, just sat watching the river go by only 10m away! Then when it got a little cold we lit the log burner (of which there is a plentiful supply of wood to burn). The cottage comes with things such as a few bottles of wine, some fruit, some eggs and milk. A really nice touch and not something I have seen before.

They are also very clearly keen on protecting the environment as they use Ecover products throughout the cottage.

Out and about, the cottage is in a great location in which to explore southern Wales. We had a drive over to Tenby which is around an hour away and the beach there is amazing. There are so many coves, beaches and walks along this part of Wales, it is literally impossible for me to list them all. The local village of Newport has some lovely shops, restaurants and pubs, all the best ones are listed in the extensive information pack that comes with the cottage.

Jonathan, thank you very much for our stay and we will be returning with my family as soon as we can!

Kris and Jen.
