We really enjoyed our stay at this little gem. Food was excellent - fine dining type. The cellar pub is great for evening drinks and socialising. Breakfast is high quality and everything looked and tasted very good.
We stayed at the back house you could unfortunately hear the people above walking around a bit but it wasn't a big issue. Service was quite friendly so no issues. The owner is very talkative and has lots of information on what to do, where to go and how to get to x, so on.

Great food but please, please, please take a staff training day for front of house staff.
The pallets used to decorate the dining room are a rather interesting twist on what used to be a very smart town house setting.

We stayed at LLys Meddyg just before Christmas and loved it so much that it was great to have the opportunity to return last week as part of a special deal. This time we had the spacious Garden Room which, though different from Room 5 on our previous visit, was equally comfortable and original - chic and quirky! Our evening meal on both occasions was a real treat: food, beautifully cooked and presented, was served in a relaxed, non-stuffy atmosphere. Ed & Lou are excellent hosts who know how to make a stay special. I would recommend Llys Meddyg to family and friends who are looking for a relaxing break at somewhere out of the ordinary.

If your journey takes you to Newport, Pembs, or in close proximity to it, then look no further than Llys Meddig Hotel in Newport. Excellently placed for delightful walks along the estuary, Newport Beach or Dinas Head. A charmingly comfortable hotel and excellently hosted by Ed & Lou, your palate awaits wonderfully presented, 'value for money' cuisine. You'll regret not enjoying the experience!

Room Tip: All rooms are spacious, very comfortable with mini bar available, bathroom shower/bath.

Booked to stay here last minute. When we arrived there was some confusion over our booking but they found us a room. It was lovely and spacious .....however it was very cold at night especially the bathroom. They did have an extra halogen heater in there so I expect they were aware of this. We did point this out that we had to sleep in our dressing gowns so hopefully this will be sorted for future stays !
However......the place was lovely and so were all the staff. Food was wonderful and so was the wine! Would happily go back .....when its warmer !

Room Tip: Ask for hotel room not annexe room during winter months.

We recently stayed at Llys Meddyg and had an excellent time. The room was very well presented with a huge comfy bed and an amazing bathroom. The staff were very friendly and we had a group meal in the basement bar which is a very relaxed non formal setting but was an enjoyable place to eat and drink with friends.

The food was excellent and the wine wasn't bad either!

I would recommend Llys meddyg to friends and family.

Our recent one night stay started badly when the room we had specifically booked was occupied so instead of the luxurious room we ended up with a standard.
We weren't wowed by the room, bathroom poorly finished, no gowns, poor TV and lacked the extra touches like biscuits with the tea and coffee, tissues and the odd magazine.
That said we had a fabulous meal, loved the cellar bar and attentive bar staff. Very friendly and helpful owners too.

Room Tip: Definitely not room 8

Thank you for your review,
We really appreciate your feedback, and are pleased you found our staff so accomodating.
Thank you also for highlighting an irregularity in our service, normally all of our rooms have fluffy gowns, tissues and reading material. In room eight in particular we have a large shelf dedicated to books and magazines, but perhaps the member of staff who checked you in forgot to highlight this.
We hope to see you again soon!
