Loved my stay here, really welcoming hosts and modern house. Location ideal with places to eat and the small high street nearby. Single room not gigantic but perfectly fine. Meticulously clean and a lovely breakfast.

Right in the middle of Newport with restaurants nearby our stay at Cath and Brian's B&B was spot on. Room was extremely comfortable and absolutely spotless with coffee and tea and biscuits provided. Breakfast was plentiful and more than enough. Very friendly and one could come and go without having to wake up the owners. Definately a place that invites another visit.

This was our first visit to Hengoed, but it most certainly will not be our last! Cath & Brian are delightful hosts and their breakfasts are exceptional: fresh fruit salad, outstanding local bread and superb locally produced range of jams. Wherever possible the ingredients are locally sourced. Our room, which had its own separate entrance to the house, was very comfortable, as were the beds (a single and a double) and we also had our own very well equipped kitchen. We have made many visits to this area of North Pembrokeshire in recent years but Cath & Brian were still able to send us off to discover and enjoy new places and sights! Cath & Brian have managed to create a wonderfully homely, relaxed air to their spotlessly clean and comfortable B&B.

Cath and Brian could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The room was quite small but enitrely adequate, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was excellent, with a stunning array of wonderful jams made locally. Access to coastal walking is very good.

We stayed at Hengoed for May bank holiday weekend 2013. We frequently visit newport because of its stunning beauty, amazing costal walks and quite laid back atmosphere. We have stayed in various accommodation, during our numerous visits and have found Hengoed to be the best! Cath and Brian were great hosts and very welcoming.

The small apartment we stayed in, had a double and single bed, which were very comfortable. A well equipped kitchen, described as a kitchenette but is as well equipped as our kitchen at home. It was ample in size for us as a couple with a dog. Fresh milk, tea, coffee and biscuits were gratefully received on our arrival, following our long walk along the coast. Breakfast was yummy, locally sourced and cooked to perfection. The apartment was clean and tidy with a homely feel. The separate entrance worked well for us with our dog.

It is well situated within easy walk to the estuary leading to the beautiful sandy beach, whilst being within walking distance to the pubs and shop in Newport itself. We celebrated our wedding anniversary whilst we were there and it was the perfect setting, our only regret is that we didn't stay longer.......

We will be back soon

Room Tip: The small apartment allows well behaved dogs and is well equipped to self cater...... Don't miss...

We spent three nights at the Hengoed B & B. Catherine and Br were excellent hosts. Our upper story large bedroom was spotlessly clean and comfortable and well equipped with tea, coffee and cookies! The sky lights were a treat to look out onto the backyard with their son's seven young lambs! Very picturesque! Their backyard also enabled us to dry out wet hiking gear on the clothesline!

Catherine was a wealth of knowledge and suggestions of area attractions that might interest us.

The B&B is well run, friendly and so very comfortable!

My fiancee and I stayed for one night in April and really enjoyed it. The room was very clean with its own outside entrance so we could come and go as we pleased without disturbing anybody. Catherine is a great host and was very helpful in recommending local places to visit, not to mention the wonderful cooked breakfast! Highly recommended.
