“Lovely little spot”
Reviewed August 24, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

Had a fantastic week in Newport. Cottage was great for our family of 4 great beach walks and relaxing place to stay. Will come back to the area.

“Gem of a Cottage in a delightful setting.”
Reviewed June 9, 2012 for a stay in May 2012

Being our 4th stay at Major Lodge - a Grade 2 listed building -it goes without saying that we`d fully recommend it . Cottage has a lovely feel to it and has been thoughtfully renovated and equiped . The walled patio off french doors from the elevated dining area of the kitchen is a real sun trap. Newport is a gem of a place -more a large village than a town with lots of independent and quirky shops. Excellent restaurants and pubs within easy walking distance . Great base for Pembs coastal path walks.

“Great Place to Stay !”
Reviewed April 9, 2012 for a stay in April 2012

Major Lodge is a well appointed, compact three bedroom house with everything you need for a good holiday. The property is clean, with a modernised interior, yet retains a great deal of the character and charm of a an original town house. The situation is excellent with a two minute walk into the centre of Newport - which has everything that you need in terms of Butchers, Bakers, Grocery shop, pubs and restaurants. The house even has off road parking ( a rarity in Newport !) and there is enough space to squeeze two small cars in.
We thoroughly enjoyed our Easter break and will be back for more.
