“Charming cottage”
Reviewed 1 week ago for a stay in June 2018

The cottage is centrally located in Newport making in the perfect spot for walking around town. The house is spacious and still remains cozy. With two bedrooms, it was perfect for the three of us (sister and her daughter) to hangout and get away from each other.

The living and dining rooms are quite open and the little electric fireplace was just enough to take a chill off.

As if the cottage isn't perfect enough, interacting with the trio of owners is pure delight. Martin handles the reservations, but you might be lucky enough to meet his wife and his brother David. For sure, you will consider yourself fortunate as can be if you meet their dad, who lives next door. Leslie is even more charming than the cottage and a fount of information about Newport. Don't bypass a chance to chat with him.

Newport is a good base for exploring local attractions, the beach, National park and nearby towns. There are good pubs, serving food, well stocked general store, chemist, post office and whole foods store. The cottage is typically Welsh, with stone walls, low beams and deep window ledges. The owners Dad lives next door and was lovely, he welcomed us and made us feel nothing was too much trouble. The beds are really comfy, the cottage is lovely and warm and theres piping hot water. There's everything you need in the kitchen, in the sitting room books and games. You just need to remember your bathroom towells. Recommended.

We were made to feel really welcome from the start with wine and milk in fridge and advice from owners father living next door .The cottage was very clean, quaint , spacious and well equipped. Perfectly situated for local shops and trips out. Beautiful part of wales and easy to walk to beaches and coastal paths. Quiet location. easy parking .

This cottage is comfortable, cozy, clean, and well-located in town near restaurants, shops, and the coastal path. We loved it! The owner was responsive in communicating as needed throughout our planning and his relative was gracious and welcoming when we arrived. We were traveling from the US, didn't know quite what to expect, and this stay was the highlight of our UK trip. If you are curious about the coastal path as we were, you will not be disappointed. We walked through town, started near a park-type path by the estuary and ended up seaside with amazing views--walked to our hearts' content then walked right back into town to a cozy pub for dinner. Wonderful getaway and excellent lodgings.
