From the minute we arrived on Ninamu Island we were treated like family! We were greeted with a coconut drink by all the staff. Chris & Greta made sure we always had everything we needed & opened up their home to us. The boys surfed everyday whenever they wanted, & Chris made sure the girls went on excursions somewhere on the boat everyday, too -- bird island, picnic at isle of Eden, fishing with dolphins all around us, snorkeling with manta rays, and learning to stand up paddle-board (SUP)! =] The meals were fabulous & healthy (Finney the cook was gourmet) & dinner each night was always special. We loved happy hour. Chris & his friend Marty were comedians, & all the girls & boatmen were so friendly & happy (& thanks for the dance, Nini, we loved you!). Our own little island for a week, the beautiful turquoise water & the scenery changed each day & became more beautiful. Shell hunting with Ginger the mama dog was our therapy!
Thank you Chris & Greta, & all the staff for a vacation we'll never forget! We didn't want to leave!! We'll be back!!
Love, Larry & Colleen Lauriano (Jan. 22-29, 2011)

Ninamu combines the best of everything in one vacation. First off is the beautiful location: the white sand and stunning water in unreal teal and aqua colors is something you have to see to believe. I don't think I've seen anything more beautiful! The hotel is stylishly designed with each room unique yet still maintains a warm home-like feeling. The beds were very comfortable. There is a good variety of activities ie: surfing, snorkeling, stand-up paddle boarding, fishing, volleyball , ping pong or lounging on a comfortable chaise under an umbrella on the beach. Perhaps most importantly the staff at Ninamu is what makes the vacation. Chris , Gretta and the rest of the staff (Marty, Christiana, Eugene, Nini. Coco and others whose names I would just misspell, sorry ) really go out of their way to see that you are enjoying your stay. They let you just enjoy the peace and relaxation if that is what you desire but they also offer to take you on fishing or surf trips or walks to explore the reef or will teach you to stand-up paddle board etc. Since the hotel limits to a small number of guests you really feel the individual attention. Oh and did I mention the food? Thanks to Phine the Chef, each meal was different and amazingly delicious. I can't wait to return to Ninamu!

i stayed at Ninamu resort for a week in september with my girlfriend.
i went there to free dive and spearfish and had the best time ever, Tikehau is the best place i know for that by far and chris the manager loves to fish too. that trip also made me want to learn how to kitesurf, after seeing chris and another guest having a blast on the windy days.
we also had nice walks around the island by ourselves and cruises in the lagoon with kayaks and stand up paddle boards, doing romantic stuff. i wanted more man stuff so i planned to stay 2 days longer than my girlfriend but she didn't want to leave and stayed with me the whole time. that was cool too. i still got to go fishing at the end of the day and had a good time wondering around or learning how to kite surf with her in the day.
the resort is really nice. it's not crowded. so you definitly can get alone outdoors if you want to and you get to know the few other guests when you meet at the bar and restaurant. we had a good time, can't wait to go back.
if you want to experience french polynesia you should definitly have a go there. especially if you go with your girlfriend you'll both have a memorable time.

If you are a person that loves the ocean and is looking for that one magical spot (worldwide) that can fit all your waterman impulses in to a brilliantly run and set up place, Ninamu is where you should go. The private island where you will be staying is a boat ride away from some of the best surfing, diving, spearfishing, fishing, kitesurfing/windsurfing, kayaking etc. that you can find in the south pacific. If you are a traveler who enjoys comfort, specially that which is brought about through true hospitality (no tips or business in mind-just service) and also one that enjoys the raw beauty of nature, try it. The food and rooms are exactly what you need, simple and tasteful. I was there during the first leg of my honey moon through French Polynesia and after the fact regretted even going to all the other islands/hotels. The best way to make reservations is to contact them directly.

Being Tahiti natives and residents, my teenage daughters and myself are familiar to luxury as well and family owned places in all touristy places of French Polynesia. We were just speechless when we got to Ninamu for a few days of rest. We really felt in a very intimate place in our bungalow, and also in the islet, being alone in a small island. Wonderful fresh food, great pleasure visiting the island of Tikehau and fishing... My daughters are already asking for another visit there! I now highly recommend this place for relaxing as well as watersports vacations! It beats lots of other famous places of French Polynesia. Even though living in a place considered as paradise, Ninamu IS paradise for us!!!

My wife and I stayed at Ninamu Resort in May this year as we felt that after many Tahitian visits we should try somewhere new. What we found was a true Paradise! Chris and Greta, our hosts, attention to detail, style and generosity of spirit combined with the incredible decor all contributed to make our stay the memory of a lifetime. Chris has an intimate knowledge of Tikehau and with his guidance allowed us to explore in detail this marine paradise in great detail. At days end step off the boat, rinse your sandy feet at the door and step up to the bar for a sunset bevy while the chef prepares dinner, often this includes the fish you have just landed and the fresh organic vegetables grown locally are a staple. We cannot wait until our next visit and we wasted no time securing our booking for next year.

We went to Ninamu with our Family for a week ,and could have spent another week there quite easily.
The setting was perfect, and the accomodation was ideal.
We had fresh fish every day, and the chefs managed to surprise us at every meal with different local and international food.
I was concerned that our daughters would get bored , but the staff were wonderful, and they never got bored for one second. There was fishing, snorkeling, surfing, kiteboarding, kayaking ,shark diving, visit to pearl farms, as well as trips to other islands.
One of my favorite times each day , was the fresh Sushi at the bar with a glass of wine before dinner.
A five minute boat ride from the airport.real easy.
