“Just like the pictures!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 5, 2013

Just like the pictures the rooms and the resort are stunning and large!! They can take you around on golf carts too if your room is far or you feel lazy. We were in the 400's with a mountain view so a lil far but excellent room!! The best times are 1-4, that's when the sun comes out and the water feels the best, other than that it can be a lil windy and cloudy during their wet season.

Perks are that you get lots of free water in your room and otherwise so you never have to pay for it. Laundry machines are free to use so that helps when you are constantly swimming. Great staff and lots of free activities. We didn't leave the resort for 3 days. They also provide SPF and aloe cream so need to bring any.

Downside of course is that everything is quite expensive, even the 110$ pp boat from the airport which is mandatory. I feel like it should be part of the stay. The food was also average...

We love four seasons hotels and def recommend this one!! Beautiful lagoon with hundred types of fishes! Simply an amazing holiday!! They even gave us another room since our flight was at 6pm so we can shower and change since our room was going to be given away. I think it's bc we had mountain view and those are the popular rooms!

Room Tip: We were in the 400s, ask for something closer if you can! 100-200!

Thank you for your wonderful comments and feedback on your exerience with Four Seasons.

We're most happy to hear that you particularly enjoyed yout room, the complimentary services, amenities and activities, our staff, and of course the beautiful lagoon!

We also appreciate your feedback about the airport transfer. We do not include this in the room price, as we had a lot of feedback that guests see this as a separate and expected charge (like the taxi charge to a hotel in a city, etc.)

Thanks again - and we certainly hope to welcome you back again one day!

Let me start by saying that the resort is stunning and the personalized greeting by all the front desk staff when you first arrive makes you feel so special.

The villas look exactly the way they do in the photos. They are spacious and the color scheme is so soothing. I love that staying at a Four Seasons always makes me feel like I'm stepping into the pages of Architectural Digest.

The property and beach area are beautiful - again true to Four Seasons form that even when the resort is "full" it never feels crowded - plenty of space for everyone.

The first downside however is the food. While the breakfast selection abundant and delicious (for breakfast food) the dinner in the formal restaurant (Tere Nui) was so disappointing. The food was bland and uninspired. My friend ordered paella and it turned out to be rice with this strange tomato sauce? At a resort like the Four Seasons the food should not be an afterthought - it should be a highlight in itself. For example, one night we had dinner at Jean Georges restaurant, Lagoon, at the St Regis (need to take an $80 private boat over) and it was one of the highlights of our trip! The rice cracker crusted tuna was better than anything I had at his Michelin starred restaurant in NYC and the local fish, Oravena, with a lemon crust was so succulent. I plan to return to Bora Bora again and food situation at Four Seasons almost makes me want to stay at St Regis next time.

The other area of improvement was that the front desk staff was noticeably cooler after that initial warm welcome. They were still gracious and polite but it just felt less genuine than at other Four Seasons resorts. Maybe it's because all the front desk staff were French and not locals? Not sure - my other Four Seasons experiences are in Asia and the Carribean so maybe it's more the culture there but a warm and oh so nice staff was something I have come to expect at the Four Seasons and was looking forward to and didn't quite find here.

Would I stay here again? Yes, but with the hope that the above feedback will have been addressed.

We stayed in an overwater bungalow, and were upgraded from a resort-view one to one with a better view, which was very nice of them. This is a spectacular place, even though it rained a lot. The bungalows were fantastic and spacious, I believe they may be the largest ones on the island, -if you're going to the expense of going to Tahiti, there's no point going for something cheap and pockey! The breakfasts were great, the staff were great, the gym was very good and the views were spectacular. Dining out is expensive, but it's actually cheaper than paying for the evening ferry and dining in a cheaper restaurant on the main island, and the quality is very high. The high Aussie dollar makes it as affordable (minimally expensive) as it's ever going to get. There is a free ferry at lunchtime, so it's quite possible to do lunch on the main island, and then grab some cheese, a baguette and a bottle of wine from the Chinese supermarket for a quiet evening in. What I especially liked were the free activities that the resort put on for wet weather days. We made a cocktail in the free cocktail lesson (and enjoyed drinking it), and saw lots of fish on a free guided informative snorkel of the lagoon, and my wife made a lovely crown out of flowers at the flower-arranging class. They do offer their own tours, which are much more expensive than ones based on the main island, but there's no way of getting there for the 9am start unless you hire a water taxi which was a ridiculous price, and I couldn't find any tour operators who'd pick up from the resort. I started walking to the St. Regis, which is adjacent (but maybe an hours' walk), in the hope that they might have more frequent ferries, but never made it as it was such a hot day and the glare from the white sand was overwhelming. So I felt like Patrick McGoohan in the original series of "The Prisoner," -trapped in Paradise. But what better place to be trapped in! I didn't mind so much, as I was so busy with the cocktail classes, gym, steam room and spa, free kayaking and lunch time trips to the main island.

Room Tip: The resort-view bungalows don't look as though they have as much privacy as the others, so pay m...

The Four Seasons Bora Bora is incredible. The staff was five star and the resort was perfect. If you can afford to go, this should be on your bucket list. When I first saw the photos on their website and on the internet, I thought it was a nice place. When you arrive they make you feel like home and the grounds are impeccable. How many places have you been where they sweep the beach everyday. The best part is the multitude of blues in the water. Looking at the majestic mountain with the blue water is something hard to describe. A must see..

Room Tip: The over the water bungalows are better than the photos you see on the internet.

This resort is an amazing place to have a perfect holiday. Relaxing, beautiful, food was delicious and water was like nothing we have ever seen. It was warm, clear, the fish were everywhere, the coral is beautiful and totally worth it. Expensive, but worth every penny!

The half day snorkle tour was amazing!

If you can afford it, ask for bungalow 130 with the plunge pool. It has an unobstructed view of the mountain and the lagoon. The accomodations were unparalleled to any we have seen.

Skip the Polynesian show, other than that, everything was perfect.

Room Tip: pick bungalow 130 with an unobstructed view of the mountain and lagoon. It also has the dipping poo...

I think this has to be one of the best vacation weeks of my life. As you would expect from a Four Seasons, the property was immaculate and the service was incredible. I had never stayed in a overwater bungalow before so I was surprised how spacious these units were. Large living room, two sinks, large tub, and large (separate) shower. Large bedroom with king size bed and view to the water. The deck had "get some sun" and "sit in the shade" areas. The fresh water shower just as you exit the sea water was a nice surprise.
Everything was expensive? Yup. But getting the best of the best made that much easier to swallow.
We took a one day cat cruise around the island, native music, spa massage. Pretty cool that many of the watersports items (paddle board, kayak, etc.) were free. Nice pool. Fun trip to the main island.
The trip there is a little long, things are a little expensive, but budget high, relax and enjoy the best vacation of your life.

The Four Seasons has a fabulous property on this Island and you cannot go wrong with any bungalow you stay in for your trip. The staff is friendly and helpful and the spa is simply beautiful. You never have to leave the resort. I would purchase any food package I could since the breakfast buffet is varied and worth the package price. The other food is expensive and when you travel to town you have to pay for the trip. The kayaks, paddle boards etc. are at no charge and swimming from your deck in the ocean is truly a treat. We even extended our stay because we were so impressed by everything at this resort. The main focus is always the customer and the staff is always trying to quarantee your comfort. There are washers and dryers for your use and the property affords you every amenity. I cannot give this a better rating.

Room Tip: I didn't see a bad room but some rooms are a greater distance so if you have a problem walking a...
