My husband and I were lucky enough to finagle a trip to Bora Bora for our honeymoon. We had heard great things about the Four Seasons Bora Bora and decided we'd work our trip so that we could spend 5 nights there. We started off with 3 nights in Moorea. Although people suggested we spend more time in Bora Bora, I thought 5 nights was just right. We took the small plane from Moorea and 5 nights gave us enough time to settle in and enjoy the beautiful hotel. Bora Bora is everything you'd imagine and more. I felt like I was in a movie set.

We opted for a hut closer to the beach since it was more affordable vs. mtn view...and frankly, you can't go wrong with ANY hut at this hotel. It was beautiful - big living room, bathroom, and nice bedroom. We were greeted with a bottle of wine and some fresh fruit. Service was wonderful - fresh towels and bottled water everywhere. Amazing breakfast (which was included in our stay) - everything from chocolate croissants, fresh omlettes...you could even drink coconut juice right from a coconut w/ a straw in it haha. They had a juicer too - with an array of ingredients so you could make your own fresh juice. The food was fantastic.

We loved that they offered free non-motorized water sports and took advantage of the paddle boarding multiple times. We also did some snorkeling - although there isn't really any coral around this hotel. We paid the whopping $250 for a jetski and did a tour...it was worth it. We also did a couple's massage which was lovely and I found the prices at the spa surprisingly reasonable given the setting/quality.

Overall, this is a dream place to visit. But, be ready to spend big bucks. We were lucky enough to have dinner included in our package. Otherwise, we would have dropped at least $200 a night on dinner. Drinks (aside from beer) are close to $25 each. The one meal we paid for each day was lunch - we'd split an entree since they're good size and usually get a side and 2 drinks...and easily spend $75.

In the end, we were very happy with how we split our time - 3 nights in Moorea was perfect - we rented a car and really got to see the island, which is bigger. 5 nights in Bora Bora was perfect. Once you're there - there isn't much to do other than sun, eat, and drink. My husband and I agreed - he can take me back there for an anniversary trip. He says '25th anniversary' - we'll see. There are certainly other places in the world we'd like to visit before we take a 2nd trip. But honeymooners, this place is amazing...and wasn't that much more than Hawaii and far less commercialized. We'd recommend it!

We just arrived home from one of the best vacations we have had. Four Seasons Bora Bora is a outstanding resort with beautiful surroundings, high quality service, exceptional accommodations and very friendly staff. If you are looking for relaxation, look no further; the serenity and beauty of the resort will bring peace to your mind. If you wish to make yourself busy there are many excursions available. We had a wonderful time overall and are looking forward to coming back.

Just a couple of points here. We were not overly impressed with the sushi taste and presentation in the Sunset bar, some improvement would be nice. We also found the teenagers playing with floating toys in the adult pool to be very disruptive. The resort management should make sure that adult pool users are considerate of other guests and that the parents of energetic teenagers are advised to take them to an appropriate area for play time. Thank you.

Even after reading all of the amazing reviews, this resort still managed to exceed all of our expectations. The villas are incredible, service is out of this world, and the resort boasts post card pictures from every angle.

One bit of advice for travelers that are on the fence. A trip to the French Polynesia is expensive. Worth it, but expensive. Plan to spend an additional 20% on top of the cost of the resort for food and beverages. I recall we were so concerned with the unknown added expenses of food, beverages and activities before we traveled. I won't get into detail on specifics, but we liberally took advantage of the food (amazing), beverage and spa options while there during our six night stay and I'd say we probably spent an additional 20-25% over the cost of our fee to stay there. Hopefully that gives an idea to those trying to put a total budget on their stay.

One last note - do not overlook the main restaurant at the resort. We were also so concerned with going into the main island for dinner when we came to realize late in our stay that the best dining experience we had n Bora Bora was right on the property - amazing!

Truly a memorable trip - you won't regret your decision to stay at the FS!!

After much research, we used Custom Tahiti Travel to help book our honeymoon in Bora Bora, including our stay at the Four Seasons. We stayed for 7 nights in January.
We were greeted immediately at the Bora Bora Airport by friendly staff and flowered leis. They took care of our luggage and escorted us to the boat which would take us to the resort. We were given a cool towel and bottle of water upon stepping onto the boat, which was welcomed after all the traveling we had done that day.
Upon arrival to the resort, we were greeted by a member of the staff, who took us on a golf cart directly to our overwater bungalow (our luggage followed). All of the check in procedures were done in the hut, which was very convenient. We had hut 416, which was on the farthest platoon and faced the resort. It was probably close to a 1/2 mile walk from our bungalow to the main part of the hotel (restaurants etc). We had no bungalows opposite us, so it leant to plenty of privacy. The bungalow is perfect. An extremely comfortable bed, plenty of space in closets and in the bathroom area. The deck is huge, with a table and chairs on one side and 2 lounge chairs on the opposite. Snorkeling masks were located on the deck as well. The housekeeping service was outstanding. They came 2x/day, once for regular cleaning etc, and then at night for turn down service, which they closed the blinds, replenished the bottled water and adjusted the lighting in the room.
We had a small issue in our hut on our 3rd day with a leaky roof. (Unfortunately we were there for quite a bit of rain at the start of our trip). However, the situation was rectified IMMEDIATELY. We were escorted with all of our belongings to a different hut with a lagoon view and a little closer to the resort itself. Because of the troubles of having to repack and move during the rain, one of the assistant managers (I'm sorry I can't remember his name) was able to reimburse us for part of our Polynesian Dinner. Other than that minor issue, we have absolutely nothing to complain about.
The Four Seasons does an impeccable job of making you feel at home and welcome everywhere on the resort. We were greeted by every employee we came across, and by the 3rd day, everyone knew us by name, and the bar tenders at Fare Hoa, knew what we liked to drink.
We ate at all onsite restaurants, our favorite being the Sunset Bar. We loved the drinks and the food. My husband said the sushi was very fresh and delicious. We ate at Terre Nui everymorning for breakfast (it was included in our package) and every morning there was a fresh fruit juice option as well as eggs cooked to order and plenty of fruit, breads, pastries etc.
Room service was outstanding as well. We ordered it 2 nights and everything from pizza to lamb chops. It was delivered hot, and our table was set up perfectly.
Bora Bora is as expensive as everyone says, but in our opinion worth every cent to be in paradise. The Four Seasons goes above and beyond any other place we have ever stayed.
Despite 4 rainy days during our week long stay, we had a fantastic time. Bora Bora truly is a beautiful place. We relaxed, snorkeled, drank, met some great people and really cannot wait until we can go back to the Four Seasons (just not again during the "rainy" season!!)

Room Tip: if you don't want a long walk everyday to the main part of the resort, ask to be on the closest...

We just travelled to Bora Bora in the last week of January, and had a wonderful stay at the Four Season's. I've been to Bora Bora and the Society Islands 8 times, and the Four Season's has the best service anywhere. It's their attention to detail that really makes them stand out.

If you go to other resorts, you will find service lacking. This is especially true for any kind of food or bar service. Four Season's excels in that area.

The week we arrived, a cyclone was passing, so it was quite rainy. In fact, I've never seen torrential rains in Bora Bora even though when I go there, it's rainy season (usually short downpours then sunny again). We started in a over-the-water bungalow, but found that we had a small leak in the roof (324). The staff immediately assessed the situation, and found that it needed to be repaired. We were immediately offered a beach bungalow (huge upgrade with pool) or another over-the-water bungalow. The attention they gave us was stunningly fast.

After looking at the beach bungalow with pool and jacuzzi, it was hard to turn down. We spent a total of 2 nights in the over-the-water bungalow, and 4 nights in the beach bungalow.

I've stayed at this Four Season's a total of 4 times, and I have to say you are better off in the over-the-water bungalows. First, you have a better view of the water. Second, there are no insects over the water. Finally, you just get a better experience being over the water.

The beach bungalow's are palatial. The one we stayed in (503) had two large bedrooms, one with a kind sized bed, bath, and huge master bathroom. In the middle section was a guest bathroom (half bath with shower) large living room and dining room. There's a small pantry where another sink is located with refrigerator. The master bedroom had a very loud air conditioning system that needed repair - so loud that it would wake you up at night a few times. Luckily, since we had two bedrooms, we had easy options to avoid. The master bedroom bed also had issues, and needed to be replaced. I think these beach bungalows are heavily used, and since there are only a few of them, they probably need more attention. The over-the-water bungalows have really comfortable beds.

On the other end is another large bathroom with two sinks, shower and enclosed toilet. There is a bedroom with two queen sized beds.

None of the DVD players worked in the bedrooms, and the voicemail system never worked while we were there. We mentioned this a few times, but we did not want to have staff come out to fix the system and interrupt our stay (we already had to pack up and move bungalows), so we just ignored the minor problems.

Both ends have outdoor showers.

On the outside is a beautiful infinity plunge pool, heated jacuzzi, covered area for dining and laying out. There is a small lawn area with meticulously cared for grass (looked like a putting green), a hammock and then small beach area.

The bungalow is surrounded by palms and Caribbean Pine trees (which are not native to the area).

Every day (while we were there) they sprayed for mosquitoes around 5:30pm with a fogging machine. It helped, but there were still flies. If you don't like Gecko's then I recommend you don't stay in a beach bungalow. We had a few of them running around inside. Not a big deal, but you won't find them over the water.

While the bungalow was wonderful, I would still chose a over-the-water bungalow for the full Bora Bora experience. If you want to splurge, then get into one of the two plunge pool bungalows located at the end of each of the pontoons (the row of over-the-water bungalows extending out over the water is called a pontoon).

The staff at the Four Season's was great - the best in Bora Bora.

The morning staff at the breakfast buffet were great. They were always very happy, and would always try to teach me some new Polynesian words each day. When greeted with a smile, you can't help but have a great day !

Other staff that stood out were the water activities people. Specifically David who was really helpful and even offered to get his friends outrigger canoe there if I wanted to try it.

The bar and pool staff were great, housekeeping did a great job, and the front desk people were always helpful. We didn't interact with other staff.

Breakfast was our favorite mealtime - since they had fresh juice (you can even blend your own) and made-to-order omelets.

I highly recommend you get off the resort to try other options, including the St. Regis and Bloody Mary's for dinner.

We tried a romantic beach dinner which was amazing. Other dinners there were good, but not great. My favorite place to eat was the sunset bar - just having a drink and tapas. The view of the sunset and island of Bora Bora are just beautiful there.

My hats off to the staff during our checkout. Somebody came up with the amazing idea to pre-arrange the check-in for the bags and flight tickets back to Papeete.

You take the resort tender back to the airport, and there, the staff would check you in and take care of your bags. It was all very seamless and really make you feel pampered.

During our stay, we did the helicopter tour, which is one of those "once in a lifetime" things you should really do. Do the 30 minute tour which takes you over the heart-shaped island of Tupia and flies you up around the peak of Bora Bora.

At the resort, most time is spent at the pool, on the water, or just relaxing and enjoying the sunshine. Be sure to get a drink in a coconut !

Overall, the Four Season's is a wonderful stay. If you have limited time for vacations, get the most out of your days by staying at this beautiful resort. The uncompromised service and attention to detail will make your stay a true pleasure in paradise.

Room Tip: Try to get a over-the-water bungalow on the first pontoon - nearest the restaurants and pool. Beach...

From the moment we arrived at the Bora Bora Airport to the moment we were handed our boarding passes upon departure everything was taken care of in a friendly professional manner. The resort is beyond amazing..lots to do or do nothing. Great food, beautiful rooms, lovely pool and beach area. If you desire privacy you can swim and sun from your own balcony. The only complaint was that we had to leave!

Room Tip: Ask for a bungalow at the end of a pier.

My husband and I went on our dream vacation to Bora Bora and stayed at the Four Seasons. It was absolutely amazing! Our first time staying at one and it far exceeded our expectations. The overwater bungalow was beautiful with doors opening up to a deck with a vie. Staff was unbelievably friendly and whatever we asked for they were on top of it. Eric at the conceirge was exceptional! My husband wasn't feeling well one day and he rescheduled our ATV/Jetski tour which was prepaid with our travel agency, he made sure we still got to do our activities. Restaurants and drinks were great as well (very, very expensive though) try to get a meal plan if possible and bring your own snacks! It was also a very private and not overly crowded hotel even though it was during Christmas/New Years.Perfect for honeymoons. I also enjoyed the small man made coral reef with a free guided tour from their marine biologist. I would definitely go there again!

Room Tip: mountain view was surreal
