“A very charming place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2011

Nearly everything here is perfect. Beautiful range, best Place on BB, very nice staff, beautiful OWB, fully equipped sport-centers, the only things which could be better:
The meals are to expensive and not so tastefully, the cost of the excursions are double as high like you book it on yourself, wireless LAN and transfer to the main island should be complimentary.
As a resort for families i would expect that rooms with four members of one family are available. Do teenagers really need a luxurious OWB for themselves??????

We have been to a lot of nice places over the years, so our expectations were pretty high- the Four Seasons Bora Bora exceeded them in all aspects! From the greeting/transportation from the airport (ever been picked up by boat directly off the plane?) to the fantastic 20 minute ride to the resort (chilled towels, bottled water, fantastic views) to the in-room check-in (we didn't touch our luggage until it was delivered to the room a few minutes after we arrived there) we knew we were in paradise!
So off to exploring, eating and drinking...the pool area was brilliant (free private cabanas available -reserve one early!) the food at the restaurants excellent (The sunset bar was our favorite)
Interesting that we were told the resort was full (didn't seem that way- with lots of sun loungers available, and resturant reservations no problem) it seemed we were one of the exclusive few!
The staff were very genuine- they made us feel that all they wanted us to do was to have a good time (they even laughed at my jokes- something my wife seldom does!)
Even though we had no kids in tow, we noticed that the ones we saw seemed to be having a great time (apparently a very well-run kids program!)
I became a paddle board (semi) expert, and we saw more fish that we knew existed..Overall We had 4 days in Paradise...and we'll be back for our wedding anniversary!
Highly recommended!!

My wife and I just returned from a 1 week stay at Four Seasons Bora Bora. Everything about this place is first class! Upon arrival at the resort, we were taken directly to our
cottage at 9:00am even though the official check-in time is 2:00pm. The cottages are quite large & contain refrigerators & safes. The free coffee was surprisingly good. We stayed in unit 432 at the far end of the second group of cottages. Yes it was a rather long walk to the beach and restaurants, but it was also very secluded and private. Our location also allowed us to view the gorgeous sunrise each morning. If you aren't a fan of walking, then note that guests can always ask for a free ride on the many electric carts that the staff members use to move around the resort.

Four Seasons provides free snorkel equipment and watersports activities such as kayaking and paddle boarding. Take advantage of these free activities! We especially enjoyed the paddle boarding (make sure to re-apply plently of sunscreen before going out on the water or wear a shirt - I neglected this advice and ended up with a sunburned back :( .) There is also no need to bring a bag to carry personal items, as the resort provides free bags in each cottage. Our favorite activity was snorkeling in the inner lagoon. Oliver the on-staff marine biologist has steadily added new coral over the last several years to build the fish population. There are dozens of different types of fish, along with octopus and moray eels. The water is crystal clear and very warm.

This resort also has a large pool with deck chairs, but we didn't spend much time there.
The beach area is also quite nice. When ordering drinks or food at the beach, be sure to ask for Ruben. His service was simply outstanding! Also note that bottled water is not free at the beach (it is everywhere else.) Ask for tap water instead.

The spa area also offers free jacuzzis and showers. There are separate areas for men and women. The men's jacuzzi has a gorgeous view of the Pacific Ocean. After checking out on our departure day, we showered at the spa to refesh ourselves. Don't be concerned about having to pack wet swimsuits in your luggage, as the locker rooms also have free swimsuit spinners to wring out the water! Just past the spa you will find the Pacific Ocean side beach. Guests are welcome to stroll along the beach, but swimming is not recommended due to strong currents. The staff also mentioned that Humpback whales were occasionally visible offshore, but we didn't see any.

You will be offered free bottled water at every turn, so no need to worry about
dehydration.

The only downfall at this resort is that the food is extremely expensive. There are ways
to save on this though (see Money Saving Tips below).

In summary, this was the vacation of a lifetime. All of the Four Seasons staff members
were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The service was simply outstanding!

Money Saving Tips:

1) Pack lots of snacks! We brought cliff bars, biscotti, crackers and peanuts. This came
in quite handy between meals. Bring as much as you can.
2) Take the free shuttle to Vaitape. It departs at 11:15am and returns at 2:45pm each day. All other shuttles cost 3000 xpf round trip per passenger.
3) Don't do the meal plans - We found that 1 meal per day along with snacks was more than enough food. You will spend a lot less ordering a la carte.
4) Order room service off the Children's menu. The lunch and dinner selections are 1/2 the price of regular menu items, and the portion size is almost the same.
5) Buy duty-free liquor at LAX prior to your flight to Papeete. We found a special on
Smirnoff vodka - 2 bottles for $30.00. All purchases will be delivered to you at the gate
prior to departure. Buying liquor at the resort will be hideously expensive.
6) Bring Crystal Light to mix. This is much cheaper than buying juice/soda at Vaitape or at the resort.

Other tips:

1) Turn on the light under your cottage at night. This attracts plankton to the water
surface, which in turn attacts lots of fish! Go down on the lower deck of your cottage to
view them swimming and splashing around.
2) Bring DVDs! The resort is very quiet at night and there is no nightlife. The only tv
channels in English are ESPN and CNN. We brought several DVDs to fill the time and were glad that we did.
3) A free Lagoon Sanctuary Tour is offered daily at 2:30pm. Take this tour! (You must book ahead of time with the concierge.) Oliver explains the different types of marine life in the lagoon and then takes everyone on a snorkel tour. He also chatted with us and answered our questions for about 30 minutes after our tour. He was absolutely fantastic!

This is the most amazing resort i have ever been to and i have been to some nice spots. I can't stop thinking about our stay ( just got back yesterday). We left the kids at home and had 5 days of pure bliss. I wanted to just ZEN OUT and we sure did...the moment the FS Boat picked us up we were in heaven.

I wont bore you with details but i will tell you its worth every penny and then some. I am already trying to book another one for next year.

The over water bungalows are Stunning!!!! We were in bungalow 227, the third one from the very end. They are very spacious with beautiful decks, 2- sun chairs and a table with two chairs to enjoy your meals . We had a hard time leaving the room. It was perfect.

One thing i loved about this resort is there are only a little over 100 bungalows so it never felt crowded. We never had to fight for a chair by the pool or beach. In fact we ended up getting a bungalow by the pool a few times ( free of charge). The restaurants were never full and we always walked right in. The packaged included breakfast and dinner for us, this was ideal since meals could run you a few hundred each (Very expensive). The food was great! I wouldn't say its the best i have had but it was very good and we were well fed. If anything was not to your likings they would take it back and get you anything else you wanted.

The service is impeccable!!!! From the moment you are picked up at the airport to the moment they take you back to the airport. You are always greeted by your name and they are very welcoming.

The Spa is beautiful and i would highly recommend it. You can also head to the Jacuzzi daily (free of charge) and the gym. They also have sunset Yoga wtih Sara (also free od charge). Sara is a sweetie Pie (From Spain) and the sunset yoga was really a treat. I also highly recommend heading over to Teen Island and booking the hour long snorkeling session with Oliver the Marine Biologist. He will show you all the fish and corals they have. We really enjoyed this.

They have sunscreen all over the resort so don't bothering bring a bunch. They provide a beach bag for you, snorkel gear, water shoes, flip flops, adaptors converters....... the list goes on.

Book this now, don't think about how much it is...promise it's worth it!!! I am wishing i could go back tomorrow!!!!! I will continue to stay at the Four Seasons in Bora Bora.

Have them book you the Snorkel/ Swimming with Sharks and Ray tour. The person they use is a hoot. He even took us to his private motu. What a special treat.

Enjoy, Enjoy!!!!

From the moment the Four Seasons' staff greeted our family at the airport to the moment they dropped us off at the airport for departure, our experience was nothing but positive. It's been less than a month since we were there and I already long to return.

The overwater bungalows are huge and beautiful but we were hardly in there. In fact, we didn't even jump into the water from our bungalow as the water was pretty deep. We were always at the beach or in the lagoon doing one activity or another. It felt like a shame to have that big, expensive bungalow when we hardly spent any time in it.

Also, the drinks and food prices are outrageous - even compared to expensive cities such as London, Paris, Tokyo standards!!! The main problem here is that you really have no choice but to pay those prices unlike other destinations since you are on an island with nothing but this hotel on it. To go to anywhere else, you have to take the hotel boat taxi to get to the main island. At the hotel, about 23 USD for virgin tropical drinks in a coconut for the kids and tropical drinks with alcohol will cost you about 35-40USD. Have a few of those drinks by the pool one afternoon and you've just spent enough for a very nice dinner at anywhere else. But you won't be having a dinner with those amazing views anywhere else though ...

If you have oodles of money set aside for the vacation of a lifetime, come here. Eat, drink, get massages, and repeat. You will have a great experience doing any of these activities. If there are any hesitations regarding prices or you want to try to find ways to save here or there, don't come here. The outrageous prices will just dampen the experience in that case.

Thanks to all the staff in the Four seasons. We really had enjoyable stay there. We stayed there for three nights, and we did 4X4, shark feeding, sunset cruise and Coral Garden snorkelling. It was great, we had perfact sunset from the cruise, and played with rays, and saw lots of live corals and fish under the sea. The guide for snorkelling was fantastic, he took us to go for snorkelling in three differenct areas within three hrs because we had to leave from Four season in the afternoon.

If you choose to stay in Four Season, it's definitely worth it.

BTW, we booked resort view overwater Bungalow, but the resort has upgraded our room to mountain view overwater Bungalow for free. The view in the mountain view overwater bungalow was great.

Everything about our honeymoon at The Four Seasons was emaculate and heavenly. From the moment we arrived in Bora Bora we were greeted with phenomenal service- from the beautiful boat ride to the hotel all the way to our last breakfast there! We felt like we were in paradise the entire time. There is almost nothing you can think of that they don't offer, or will find a way to get you. The staff is fantastic, food is delish, ambience is friendly and yet private enough to provide enough one on one time.
It is truly a magical experience, if you are willing to pay the price.... it is definitely a worth- while experience that will not be forgotten!
