We stayed in a premium overwater bungalow (27) which was mountain facing. The room was perfect and we loved being able to see the coral/fish and listen to the ocean from our coffee table/bedside/bath/sink views. The rooms are lovely, clean, private and we spent most of our time in our bungalow/out on the deck or swimming in front/under our bungalow. The coral reef that they are growing/preserving was close to us and their were lots of fish there when snorkelling. This is definitely the place for relaxing.

We were overwhelmed during our stay of how lovely and helpful all the staff were. I was also very lucky to be given a black pearl pendant as a honeymoon gift from the hotel on arrival and we got a free bottle of wine delivered to us on our first night.

We had our breakfast and dinners included which saved lots of money as a meal is about $30+ per person and dinner was a 3 course meal/buffet. On the nights that werent a buffet you can upgrade from the standard meal if you like something else on the menu for $5-$10 more. We brought alcohol duty free and went over to the main town one day (not much there once for an hour is plenty of time) to get mixers and some snack food. (Bottles of Alcohol in the shops are expensive)We then were able to drink in our bungalow. The bar was lovely to go to in the evening as they have half price cocktails (from 1100 FPF or $13 Aussie $) and a beautiful atmosphere. We also enjoyed playing 8 ball (pool) for free.

We also played mini golf for free but didn't get around to kayaking which was also free.

We only did one tour which I had read that was highly recommended on trip advisor. It was the 'Shark Boy' tour (stingray/shark tour). It was 1350 FPF full day including lunch on a private island ($120
Aussie $). This trip was amazing and our guides were very funny and friendly they even sang/played the ukulele. The first stop was snorkelling at a reef then next stop was waist deep water that we just walked in/snorkled as the sting rays came up to us and we touched them/they climbed up on us (they were slimy to touch and weird at first but after a bit they were ok. As the rays are doing this little lemon sharks are swimming around you as we'll it was amazing. We then went to deep water where we swam with more lemon sharks and some even 6-7ft long. The guides fed them and even swam down and hugged/held onto their fin as they swam along. Final stop was to a private island for a beautiful buffet lunch with traditional salads/fish salad, rice, barbecued chicken, steak, fish, fruit, coconut bread and banana dessert.

I would highly recommend Pearl Beach Resort for a lovely couple destination holiday and it was well worth the money that it costs. I have been to many tropical holiday destinations such as Fiji, Bali,Thailand, Hawaii, Caribbean cruise,
Tenerife and by far this was the best.

My Husband and I stayed at the Bora Bora Pearl Beach Resort for the second half of our Honeymoon for 5 nights in the Overwater bungalow (#20) arriving September 16th. Upon arriving at the airport they had a hotel representative waiting there for us to catch the private boat to the resort. It was seamless and got us to the resort pretty fast upon landing. Check in was very simple and easy – the hotel rep explained all of the amenities to us, how to get to and from town and what was featured at the various restaurants depending on the time of day or the night of the week (as they had a dinner and show every Monday – that is your only option other than room service for a meal – one that we did not participate in). We found are room to have a great view (even though it wasn’t a premium overwater bungalow – it still had an amazing view and was close to the beach and main hotel building). The only problem that some might find with this room is it is very noisy in the morning – it’s where everyone walks by and the maid carts are very loud – but really was no big deal for us as we didn’t really sleep in at all – we were up and in the water by 10am every morning – right after breakfast. Our breakfast was included in our package and it was by far the best breakfast buffet I have very had – it had hot and cold options as well as an egg and crepe station. We eat at all of the restaurants and the food was very good – the portions are big so my husband and I were able to share a main and got an appetizer as well – the prices are comparable restaurants prices for us – we live in Victoria British Columbia and on average found that a lot of the pricing in stores and at restaurants were on par with what we pay at home so it wasn’t a big surprise. We did find the price of hard liquor very expensive but we knew that going in so prepared accordingly – We bought bottles of wine with dinner and you are also able to bring your own wine to the restaurant as well which is nice. We loved having access to the free canoes and paddle boards as well as an onsite Spa – we went for an incredible couples massage and would recommend this treatment especially if you’re on your honeymoon. Overall the customer service was excellent, the food was great and the experience is one we will remember for a lifetime!
Thank you for helping make our honeymoon so memorable!

The over-water bungalow though a bit "tired" had (as they all tend to have in Polynesia) great views over the water - though not much in the way of fish because it's largely sand - which has its advantages. Note that the resort looks the wrong way for great sunsets. The breakfasts were ok but I would avoid any other meals. Not great quality and hugely overpriced. I would not have minded the enormous charges if the food and quality of the place had merited it but it did not.Take the evening boat to one of the restaurants.
Even the 10 minute boat ride from the airport was massively overpriced but they have you captive so there really is no alternative. Generally not a place to travel half way across the world to stay in.

We came here in 2006 and again in July,2013. We loved it both times. The snorkeling was great and we went on the Reef Discovery boat trip which had 4 snorkeling stops. Saw quite of variety of fish and great clarity. We celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary here . We dined at St.James restaurant at a VIP table with a lovely floral arrangement and a delicious dinner. We also treated ourselves to a couple massage at the beautiful spa that a.m. We stayed at an ocean bungalow with a hammock, lovely outdoor shower and jacuzzi. Truly paradise!

Room Tip: We lovely the ocean bungalows on the right side

This place is amazing for views, location and accommodations. Sad part is no way a 4 star experience but definitely a 4 star price. Staff were mostly unfriendly or unhelpful, with couple of exceptions. The worst part was the food. Although breakfast was great with a buffet, loads of choices and reasonable quality, all other meals, either by the pool restaurant or main restaurant were tasteless and bland. Lots of quantity and zero taste. Example, a Greek salad smothered in olive oil, with a bit of cheese and olives and tomato. Shame because this place should be fantastic.

Beautiful location. We stayed in a beach bungalow.I know everyone says to stay in the over-water bungalows, but I've stayed elsewhere on the water and personally I prefer the extra space of a beach bungalow. The bungalow was lovely with a jacuzzi and sunbeds,an open bathroom, large bedroom and a seating area where you can sit and watch the sea, with your gin and tonic.
We were told before we went that there was expensive and then there was Bora Bora,it is not a cheap destination but is very beautiful.
The hotel only had one restaurant and one pool restaurant functioning when we were there. An Italian was closed to be opened in July, this meant there was no where to have a light meal in the evening.
The staff were very friendly, you were always acknowledged when passing them.
This is undoubtedly a beautiful location, very relaxing,we didn't want to leave.

In one tour of Polynesia and Australia we arrived also in Bora Bora for four night with my family. The resort was much more than I envisioned. The coral reef was under our cottage. Starting off the staff was very friendly and very helpful everytime. The resort got it all. The food wasn't that good but the breakfast was perfect.
The view from our room was the best, we were in the bungalow on the beach with private acess to sea, really awsome, but the last 2 days there was bad weather and we realized that the hotel offered a few option because all the activites are in the sea. We snorkeled around the island (magic) and we rented personal watercraft, amazing in spite of it was quite expensive.
Bora Bora is truly an paradise.
