Having done a fair amount of research, we had some trepidation about booking this hotel. We knew it was the ‘cheaper’ of the resorts and we’d seen a few reviews noting dated bungalows and comments on the food. All I can say is I’m glad we didn’t pay too much attention to these - from start to finish, this stay has been faultless.
The team making it all happen is fantastic - from the warm welcome we received, to the tour and the entire check in process, we immediately felt at home. Unfortunately I had a bug while I was here and the staff went above and beyond to make sure I was ok and I was comfortable. When I finally reappeared for dinner, the server asked how I was. The f&b manager Nicolas came to see that I was feeling better, after they’d arranged a complementary room service lunch (since this wasn’t part of our all inclusive package). The following morning, the operations director, Nouredine, found me at breakfast - what a lovely guy, we ended up having a long talk about the hotel and all that they offer.
We stayed in the overwater bungalow, which was spacious, extremely comfortable and laid out thoughtfully - they’ve optimised the space to the max and we loved the understated interior. We didn’t find them to be outdated at all.

To the food - the quality was exceptional and the menu was varied. We weren’t expecting much, but the French menu in Tipanié was delicate and gorgeous, and even the Polynesian buffet was great (hotel buffets can be hit and miss). The beachfront restaurant offered more casual food, but still great quality - the pasta dishes were standout.
Considering the nature of this hotel - an island resort in a very remote location - the food offering was excellent. I find it very strange that people were critical of a smaller selection than a hotel in, say, a major city. What would you expect?
There are plenty of other reviews on stunning location and views so I won’t go too much into that - they’re spot on. If you’re into diving, then don’t miss out on these incredible dive spots. Among the best I’ve tried!
The Polynesian show was a real highlight for me - it was a privilege to experience local culture.
We’re here on honeymoon, sadly checking out today, but we hope to come back one day with our family so that they can experience this magical place. More
