My husband and I treated ourselves to a bucket list vacation in French Polynesia, and we cannot stress how much we *loved* our stay at Le Meridien. As soon as we arrived in Bora Bora, we felt very welcomed, as we were greeted by a representative of Le Meridien at the airport, who shuttled us onto a small boat that took us to the resort. Once we arrived, we were again greeted, and our luggage was taken to our room as we were taken to reception to become acclimated and to get a quick tour of the resort. We were then taken to our bungalow via a golf cart. (Laurence and Alain, who were working at the reception desk, were so, so sweet! We just loved them!)

We stayed in a gorgeous overwater bungalow (a must!) and we couldn't have been more delighted with it. It is not considered to be a premium bungalow (#210), but you could have fooled us. We had a perfect view of Mt. Otemanu, and a beautiful piece of coral directly under our bungalow. The water was about 4.5 feet deep, which was just perfect for us to take quick dips and just lounge about in the water. (Word of advice - always wear water shoes, as the sea urchins are everywhere.) The bungalows appear to have been recently renovated, so everything is new and modern, yet cozy and inviting. The photos and videos that we saw online of Le Meridien before our trip couldn't even begin to accurately describe the stunning beauty of it in person.

We visited the activities desk often and Chantal helped us book something fun for each day. We did the 4x4 excursion of Bora Bora, rented jet skis and toured the entire island (SO MUCH FUN!), and we did the Aqua Safari. Worth every penny! We also checked out snorkel equipment (which is free) and snorkeled around our bungalow. Also, Tuesday and Friday nights there is a Polynesian Dance show, which is pretty interesting. We loved the music and the dancing, though it seemed like the group had never performed together before, as they all were sort of doing their own thing, but we loved it nonetheless.

We actually enjoyed the food, too! The breakfast buffet is massive, and there's something for everyone. We sampled nearly everything, from the delicious made-to-order omelettes, to the fresh breads, meats, fruits, juices, granola, fromage blanc, and even the grilled fish. It was all delicious. And because food is insanely expensive, we filled up on breakfast, skipped lunch, and just had light dinners. We only ate at Le Tipanie one night, and our buffet meal cost just under $200, and we didn't have any alcoholic beverages, so the rest of our time there, we either ordered room service, which was cheaper than dining at a restaurant, or we snacked on munchies we'd brought with us. (We kind of reconciled early on that this vacation wouldn't be about food as much as it would be about fun and relaxation.)

I must also say that every single staff member that we encountered was so incredibly polite and accommodating. People seem to sing iaorana to guests, and it just makes a world of difference.

Also, a little hidden gem... while out for a morning jog around the resort, my husband and I explored the area behind the helipad. Wow! What a gorgeous little inlet! This is officially off the property, but what a glorious place to watch the sunrise!

All in all, we had an absolutely amazing time, and would absolutely recommend Le Meridien to anyone wanting a truly memorable, relaxing, comfortable, fun vacation.

Mauruuru!

We used custom Tahiti to plan our honeymoon and they did an amazing job. We stayed at the Hilton in moorea and le meridian in bora bora. Both were 5 stars and lived up to their ratings. We had a bunch of friends stay at the st Regis in bora bora, which was right next to le meridian so we kayaked over amd checked it out. While it also looked beautiful, we were so happy with our hotel. The over the water bungalo was more than we expected, as was the whole hotel. They had a turtle sanctuary and diff daily activities, and a frequent ferry to the main land. Also the food and staff were we highly recommend this hotel!

Le Meridien Bora Bora was the perfect choice for our honeymoon. All the details seem designed for guest comfort. The staff is absolutely perfect. The center of turtles is an attraction in itself. You can snorkel in the inner lagoon with coral and a huge variety of fishes. The pools are strategically located, with breathtaking views of Bora Bora. The environment is quiet, romantic and relaxing. The bungalows are modern (fully renovated), very comfortable and beautiful. The glass floor is large (about 2x2m), allowing you to see many fish and even stingrays. The breakfast is excellent, as well as all the other meals. At night, besides the menu, there are thematic buffet with a variety of options (necessary to schedule every night). In the hotel there is an activities department that book cars and tours. Is also possible to organize since the renewal of vows to a wedding ceremony, including the Polynesian version, at the hotel. It´s simply the paradise!

Room tip: The Overwater Bungaloos are excellent.

This was the last part of our honeymoon. We stayed in the French Polynesia for 2 weeks. Bora Bora was the last of our trip. Food was great in the resort. The food in vaitape was just as good. There are a few places like Aloe cafe and bloody Mary's that we frequently visited. The seafood is fresh and caught the same day. WAter is clear and blue. Lots of activities to do. We swam with sharks and stingrays I the Wild. No cages. They are very friendly that my husband picked up the stingrays. The turtle sanctuary was a beautiful place to visit every morning at 10:30am. I highly recommend this place. I also liked that it is a quiet resort. Definitely for honeymooners :-)

Beautiful place to stay. The staff was hit and miss with service. Some staff was very pleasant others were lacking in just being friendly. Food was average at best so we left resort to eat dinner most nights. Besides that, the resort was amazing. Just a beautiful place to go and relax. How could you complain about Bora Bora...
