On our last trip to French Polynesia (Tahiti, Bora Bora, Moorea, Taha'a, Huahine), my wife Nicole fell in love with the Coral Garden on Taha'a - calling it her favorite place to snorkel. So, for this year's anniversary trip, to Bora Bora, I chartered Tahiti Helicopter for a morning private transfer from the Four Seasons on Bora Bora to Le Taha'a Island Resort & Spa on Taha'a (a 15 min or so flight), with a return transfer late afternoon, after our day of snorkeling.

Our pilot, Adrienne, was outstanding throughout, including giving us a tour over Le Taha'a on outbound, and around Bora Bora at sunset as we returned. He was accompanied by a co-pilot / asst on outbound leg, and alone on return. Despite high winds that week, the flight was utterly smooth, equipment in great shape, and site seeing outstanding.

Hats off and special thanks as well to the team at Tahiti Helicopter, and particularly Sylvie, who was gracious and very flexible as we attempted to circumvent some weather and rescheduled a couple times. They have a great team; and they are a pleasure to work with.

All in all, this is a great way to see the island(s) and great fun - see www.flickr.com/photos/daviddmoore. I would readily recommend Tahiti Helicopter for tour to anyone; and also, as a great splurge if you feel like a day trip to Taha'a for Coral Garden and other activities there. Tahiti Helicopters is highly recommended.

We flew on September 15th morning. We were picked up at Bora Bora Intercontinental Thalasso´s helipad for a 15 minutes tour (L'essentiel de Bora Bora).

Our pilot was Mr. Delpia. The flight was extremely smooth and Bora Bora from the top is spectacular. The highest point of the tour was about 30 meters above the mount Otemanu. The pilot spoke English and identified all the places we passed. The best seats are on the left side because the tour around the island is done in the counterclockwise direction.

The tour is expensive, as any helicopter ride, but worth every minute.

We've been to French Polynesia several times and had never considered the helicopter. We were staying at Le Meridien and noticed the heliport at the reef area at the back side of the property. It couldn't get any more convenient. The hotel activity desk said they take groups of 4, and it would cost more for a private flight with just the 2 of us. We asked her to call us when there was another couple. We were set for 11:00am a couple days ahead. When we arrived at our heliport, a gentleman got out of the helicopter and asked if we wanted to sit side by side in the back or one in the back and one next to the pilot. We chose husband in front with pilot, assuming it would ensure we both had full window views once the other couple joined. Turned out no other couple joined. The ride was spectacular, the views amazing, the pilot spoke English and pointed many things out and our pictures are incredible. If you go, as you board, ask if there will be other passengers. Had we known, we would have sat together and got pics from both sides, but since i had buckled in directly behind my husband and with the headphones and seat belts....and thinking we were stopping somewhere to pick up others, I didn't move to the other side....only regret...well worth the money!

Had a bit of an issue with the company responding to my emails promptly. Willing to Drop $50 a minute I honestly thought they would get back to me faster. But with that aside, everything did get booked before our arrival. Me and my boyfriend were picked up from the hotel lobby and in no time up in the air enjoying the absolute beauty of BoraBora! Making this worth the money and hassle of booking this tour. Got great pictures too! They even dropped us off at the airport saving us time to catch our flight to Moorea. What a great experience!

Quick review of Tahiti Helicopters: awesome scenery; it's expensive; but by far the best 15-30 minutes you can spend on an excursion in Bora Bora. The colors of the water are unbelievable and you won't regret spending the $$. I only wish the pilot spoke English so we could have gotten some narrative on what we were flying over. So glad we decided to fly around the island!
