I read a lot of good news about this place before we arrived to Bora Bora so we decided to give it a try on one of the late evenings - it was indeed pretty deserted; if you are looking for a fine dining experience it is not the place for you - it's down to earth decor pretty random but we normally love such places as they are the real deal so it did not bother us.
The menu is very short and the prices are insane - cash only! - we paid $15 USD for Fish Burger - which is "normal" price around the island except for the fact that normally it comes with a salad or chips or fries everywhere else... here we ended up paying another $8 for fries - so the fish sandwich + fries + a can of coke ended up costing us $27.50 USD - this was absolutely the highest price on the entire island we paid for the food at the place that accepts cash only it's unacceptable (btw. we gave $30 as we had no change on us...)
Having so many great options around (try Bora Bora Beach Club or Matira Beach Restaurant or Lucky House to name a few amazing ones we fell in love) I can't give Roulotte Matira 4 stars even though that damned sandwich was amazing - I will give them credit for that but even with that I still can't justify the price...
TIP: there is a language barrier and but considering English is neither first nor second local language you can still communicate what you want to eat, you are the guest here not the host so be respectful
