Our host suggested this wonderful restaurant, and it was perfect. I never expected to find food so professionally prepared in Talkeetna! I had Halibut - lightly breaded, perfectly seasoned, and moist and tender. Perfect! The restaurant was comfortable and our waiter was interesting and professional, and knowledgeable. I only wish this wonderful place were closer to Michigan!

I had the fettuccini with shrimp which was delicious. It came with a vegetable and salad. My husband had the baked halibut with mashed potatoes, a vegetable and soup. Which he enjoyed. They were quite busy but let us know in advance that it would be a while before we could be served. It was worth the wait. They have nice outside seating. Prices are high but everything is more expensive than in SC.

We went for the daily special which was Halibut and Scallops at a smooth mustard and sherry sauce - simply amazing. This was by far the best dinner we had in Alaska!

Fellow B&B guests steered us to the Wildflower Cafe, and it was the best advice we received in Alaska. Delicious food, friendly staff, and more. Homemade salad dressings, homemade rolls for burgers and sandwiches, perfectly cooked fish, best chowder of our trip. And, yes that strawberry rhubarb cake from other reviews really is that good. A family of four, we were all happily fed, so we did what we rarely do -- we ate at the Wildflower three nights in a row. There was no reason to go anywhere else.

But not outstanding. The place was packed so slow service expected (and waitress mentioned that up front). We were not in a hurry though. Good choice of beer on tap. Food quite good and pretty diverse menu. Wraps were very much enjoyed and they make a decent burger. Overall certainly worth the time spent. Value fair but slightly higher prices to be expected for location.
