“Spotless, Comfortable, Very Close to Town”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

My new favorite place to stay in Talkeetna. About 500 yards' walk to downtown, very clean and very comfortable.

The "cabins" are basically individual buildings split into two very large & nice separate suites. Each has its own private entrance. It's a little unfair to call them cabins as they're one level suites. They are much, much nicer than a motel though the idea is basically you have a large, 3 room hotel type suite.

We had one with a very nice queen bed and a large coach which could be pulled out. The couch was large enough for my friend to sleep on it comfortable without opening it up.

Plenty of extra blankets, very clean and brand new bathroom. Excellent place to stay in Talkeetna.

We were there August 31st. The only issue we had is that the 500 yard or so walk from town is completely unlit at night. If the sky id cloud filled and it's after dark, it is tough to walk along the road when traffic is approaching. We had to get out of the way for a car and both myself and my friend tripped over the difficult to see road edge. Next time we will bring a small flashlight.

That wasn't the cabins' fault, by any means. Just something to be aware of.

Very nice sitting room with large TV. The bedroom is not closed off from the TV room but it is a nice size suite type area. The cabin was equipped with a small fridge and coffee maker with locally roasted coffee.

Great stay. We had 24 hours between arriving in Anchorage and moving onto a week fishing at www.naknekrivercamp.com . 16 hours in Talkeetna was terrific, especially based on our excellent stay!

Jordan was a great host and we truly enjoyed our visit to Talkeetna. Our only frustration was the lack of sound isolation between the rooms. They had "quiet time" signs and no shoe policy, but it was still pretty noisy. The fireplace in the room was a nice romantic touch.

We are glad this guest enjoyed their stay. Our suites each have two shared walls, and two exterior walls. Each shared wall is constructed with two 2x4 insulated walls back to back, complete with an air space and sound board. However, our floors are laminate which can convey sound of footsteps. Although this may be a bit of a sound issue, it allows us to keep the floors spotless and sanitary, (as opposed to rugs). We have very few complaints regarding noise between units (all B&Bs and Inns typically have shared walls).
For guests who might be concerned about shared walls, we have two new stand alone cabins located next to our suites.

The Denali Fireside Cabins are an easy walk to town. In fact, we saw people passing by on the street everyday doing just that. There are 2 large one room + mini-kitchen + bath cabins and 4 rooms in one cabin-like building. We stayed in both a cabin & a room. Each was super clean, very roomy & well equipped. Be aware that the cabins are between the railroad and the Spur road. They are not 'view' rooms. But we liked the rooms and the staff was very helpful. It was a bonus to be able to walk home after dinner and cocktails and not be concerned about driving.

Denali Fireside Cabins is the best place to stay in Talkeetna!!! The cabins are very clean, nicely furnished and in a good location for walking to downtown for shopping and restaurants. We stayed in their "Little Cabin in the Woods" which is about 2 miles from town but very private and lovely. It was quiet and very nice with the gas fireplace and woodsy setting. There is a separate bedroom upstairs and a fold out couch downstairs so it could comfortable sleep 4 with privacy.

The owners, Don and Mavis are 2 of my favorite people, and Jordan, who is really lending a helpful had this summer, is a gem. If you are heading for Talkeetna. This is the place to stay!

We stayed 2 nights in the Little Cabin in the Woods and it was perfect for us. We loved being in the woods, away from town, in a jewel of a cabin. The cabin was spotlessly clean, simple and modern, a kitchen equipped with all you might need, a great T.V to view DVDs,and a place to read books, drink, wine. & relax. The young woman who checked us in was charming, helpful and full of good information. A very special place for people who enjoy peace, serenity, quiet and nature.

We stayed here two nights, and we were all happy that we did. They take care of their place, and it shows why they get such good reviews. I have to say that the girl working the front-desk (I can't remember her name) was awesome and very helpful. We like Talkeetna the best of all the cities we stayed in (Anchorage, Homer and Seward). It has such a funky and fun vibe, and staying here added to it.

If you want maximum quiet, get the detatched cabin, but we still slept very well.

We stayed in cabin number five and it was wonderful. Everything was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was helpful and they did a great job cleaning our room each day. I highly recommend staying here when you visit Talkeetna.

Room Tip: King size bed in number 5.
