Darlene and Howard operate a friendly, clean, modern, and beautiful property. It is on the river and a short walk to major attractions and the unique town of Talkeetna. Breakfast includes, a variety of cereals, muffins, and juices. The cabins are great, the main lodge is cozy and the kids will love Tiger the family dog; and the camper trailer is cool too. If your group is large or a small group, they can accomodate your desires 365 days a year. Howard's snowmobile adventures or cross country skiing trials seem to be very interesting too. You will enjoy staying with this neat couple. They are value added to your visit in the Talkeetna area fishing, hanging out, or what ever. This was my third visit...book early....

We highly recommend that you stay here when visiting in Talkeetna. Our room in the lodge was comfortable, well stocked with supplies including fridge and microwave and a great view of the Susitna river. The porch and lounge area are warm and inviting with a good supply of books about Alaska and Talkeetna. I did not see any place in the area that I would rather have stayed. I hope to return some day. Thanks for a great visit to your lovely area.

We stayed in one of the cabins, I think it was #4. It was like staying in a little house. Very clean and comfortable with the most amazing views of Mt. McKinley. We enjoyed making our own BBQ dinner and having a picnic outside the cabin. They provided everything needed. The cabin was very well equipped with dishes, etc. They even had a fryer and a crock pot! I could move into this place and live forever! :) The staff was very nice and friendly upon check in and checking out. THey let us stay a bit later until 1:00 which was helpful. The prices for the cabins are a bit pricey but as you check around, most of the nicer places in Alaska cost alot. If the cabins were less than the near $300/night I would consider coming here and staying for a week. They are close to town which was quaint and had some very interesting people. We did our laundry at a place called the Roadhouse and that worked out well. Did the Mahays Jet Boats and it was fun but didn't see alot of wildlife really. I would suggest purchasing an Alaska Tour Saver if you're going to Alaska because you can save ALOT of money on activities, including the jet boat trip and other things like helicopter rides, etc.

The eight of us would not hesitate to stay here again. The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were nice and clean. We stayed 4 nights in the lodge and it was great. We even had a fox come up on the porch one evening. They have a continental breakfast , but if you want more then go to the Roadhouse resaurant in town (about a mile) for a great and large breakfast.

I was traveling with a group of 3 friends, en route to Denali. Darlene was very hospitable and helpful. The lodge was very comfortable with a wrap-around porch outside. We did not come to fish. Because of complicated travel logistics we hired Darlene's limousine to take four of us from Talkeetna up to the Denali train station ( approx. 3 1/2 hrs). She provided soft drinks, cheese, crackers, fruit, etc. and a lovely smooth ride chauffered by a friend of hers who has a chauffer's license. It was a hoot and a lovely, fun experience and I would recommend it highly. If only we could have taken it all the way to North Face Lodge!!!
