I've stayed here 3 times over 5 years. Last year they were booked early so I had to find a different place to stay. This year I made reservations in March and got the last available cabin for the weekend I wanted in August .
I love the spacious loft with two comfortable beds, one queen, one twin. A small dresser with clock radio and fan. Downstairs is the living area with flat screen tv with dish network. A comfortable couch and recliner with two lamps makes it cozy for reading. A full kitchen with plenty of dishes, pots and pans, utinsils, and microwave.
The bathroom has plenty extra towels and soap. There's no shampoo, so bring your own. Enough hot water for two showers, which was enough for us, but maybe not everyone. The cabins are located right in downtown, but just off the main street to make nights quiet. Peggy and Kevin are wonderful hosts. Kevin's iron work is amazing and Peggy is great to chat with. I'll definately be back next year. oh yah, free wireless!

We have 'planned out our trip to Alaska over the past winter. Talking to friends and relatives who have traveled to Alaska. They all recommended to stay in Talkeetna for a few nights and all thought Talkeetna Cabins was the best place to stay. It's right in downtown, but on a little dead end street so it's very quiet. We all had the best sleep of our vacation.
Kevin and Peg were there to greet us and show us around to our cabin. The cabins are so spacious and had everything in there we could possibly need. There's even a laundry mat!!
If we needed all we had to do was ask and it appeared. Kevin and Peg helped us line up flights around Denali, or show us favorite hiking trails. The special attention was well recieved....thanks

We don't need a whole cabin, just a good place to sleep. We found these cabins were a great location in town, and a fine value.

The layout of the cabin was odd. The downstairs "greatroom" was small but comfortable for our party of two. The sleeping loft was not: the sloped ceiling was head-bumpingly low, the bathroom was downstairs, and the beds were no-frills.

We used the laundry, which was fine. Parking was convenient and free. We were able to walk to restaurants in town very easily, and a short walk to the end of the main street led to a great view of Mt. McKinley across the water.

In all, we'll give a qualified recommendation here: this might be an acceptable hub for activities in Talkeetna if you don't need a fancy bedroom.

Adventures in Good Company always stays here for one or two nights during our Grand Alaska Rod Trip and our clients always love it. The cabins are clean and comfortably furnished, the porches are a wonderful place to hang out, the location couldn't be better (close enough to town that it is easy to walk to, far enough away that it is quite) and Peg does a phenomenal job of being available and informative while not being intrusive. Kevin's iron work is amazing- ask to see it when you stay there.

great little cabins, located in the heart of talkeetna, well maintained and well equipped
however recommend upgrading the water heater so that a family of four could take a warm shower, also need window drapes so guests could fall asleep in spite of the midnight sun

I had the pleasure of staying in the Talkeetna Cabins with my wife this past weekend (3/26-3/28). What a gem of a place! It was just what we needed on a great getaway weekend. The cabin is one of several (6 I think) in a small cluster. It's right around the corner from all the great downtown Talkeetna eateries: Mountain High Pizza, Twister Creek/Denali Brewing Company, West End, Wildflower Cafe, etc. A lovely little kitchenette inside, bathroom/shower/sink, perfect size. There's a flat panel TV with DISH network service, a comfy futon and easy chair, and the beds seperated into the loft. There was wifi internet available as well, allowing us to stay connected to the rest of the world. All the friends we met up with there came by to visit and were very jealous of what we had procured compared to where they stayed.

Thanks so much to Peggy and Kevin for providing such great accomodations! We will definately be back for more visits! hIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

We took the AK Railroad from Anchorage to Talkeetna. The cabins were far nicer than we expected and the owners (Kevin & Peg) were super folks. We got to see the sights of Talkeetna and had wonderful views of Denali (Mt. McKinley). I would recommend this Talkeetna Getaway to everyone who wants a special and relaxing weekend.
