“good value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2014

This is a great little museum, and high value because the cost is only about $4. The old mountaineering stuff is worth a visit. It can take as little as 30', or as long as an hour or so depending how much you read. I would even go again...

“Interesting recap of Talkeetna history”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2014

The museum is a wonderful place to get a feel for the settling of Talkeetna and the individuals who came to call it home. When visiting an area, it is always a great idea to visit the local museum. It gives a picture of not only the surrounding land and peoples who live there, but a better understanding of why it means so much to those call it home. The railroad is such an important part of Talkeetna and the residents of surrounding areas too, transporting people, fuel, food, and the like into the interior remote areas.

“Great experience! Go to the talk about climbing denali!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 13, 2014 via mobile

We happened to get to the museum around 1 pm, and so we were right on time for a talk about climbing Denali given by a park ranger. It was excellent! The ranger is a great storyteller. He talked about the first expeditions and what it's like to climb Denali today. My parents enjoyed the talk, too.

After the talk, all the pictures and artifacts in the museum made more sense to me. I learned a lot!

“$3.00 is not much to pay to see Talkeetna's history”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 11, 2014 via mobile

Stopping in at the Talkeetna Historical Society Museum was well worth the $3.00 per person. They talked about the town's rich heritage in their homesteading along with the history of climbers to Mt. McKinley in Denali National Park.

“Worth a look but costly”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 5, 2014

$6.00 abit to high to see artifacts. Counter person too busy talking to friend about the moose tipping contest that is coming up. On positive note artifacts there are worth seeing and gives a good history of the folks in Talkeetna would like to have seen more native information in Talkeetna. Overall still a must see..
