From the reservation process to on-site help, Francine made our experience a complete pleasure. We were an extended family with teens and had plenty of room and all the comforts of home (other than no TV or wireless, which we didn't miss, since we didn't go to Alaska to sit around watching TV! You can use the TV for videos but there is no cable, at least at this writing). The kitchen is nicely outfitted, and linens and towels are plentiful and good quality. Importantly for Alaska summer, the shades in the bedrooms are very occlusive, so it was good sleeping ( no significant train noise). The house is a log cabin made of spruce logs, and is very attractive. The massage chair was a big hit; i had to kick the kids out to get my turn. The house is close enough to town to easily walk to all the cute little shops and restaurants, as well as to the airstrip where we had a fantastic 'flight-seeing' trip up to Denali (highly recommend this trip, with the glacier landing). We also drove up to Denali State Park for good day hiking- it's a bit far to go all the way to the NationL Park for a day trip from
Talkeetna, but we can get good views of the mountains from ridge trails just south of there. Hiking around Talkeetna, along the river is also nice, with good views of the range, and don't miss the little cemetery on the way into town, containing a memorial to Denali climbers who didn't make it. All in all a great experience!
