Can't believe I had to go all the way to Talkeetna for the most delicious rugalach I've ever eaten. The cookies and other treats were great too, but the rugalach...that was out of this world. We bumped into locals we recognized from area shops -- this is their go-to for lunch or a light meal.

This is a very nice little bakery, coffeehouse, and pizza place. Since it is located a few miles outside of Talkeetna, it is generally quieter and more subdued than places in town. Much of the clientele are locals, sort like an Alaskan "Cheers", where everybody knows your name. Excellent place to spend a morning over coffee and pastry with friends or family before all the activities of a Talkeetna day start up.

This bakery had some tasty choices for breakfast, along with homemade breads and cookies. We enjoyed the food, and the friendly greeting and atmosphere!

What is there to say?? It's a bakery that serves a daily sandwich and soup.
Soups have always been delicious ... never got to try the sandwiches as I get there too late and they run out of them??
The breads are good and the Wednesday and Saturday cheese bun is super delicious, but it takes them forever to find my bread card to stamp!!.
Staff is a bit inattentive and take longer than necessary to get the product out. I have been the only one in line for a rhubarb soda and cookie and it still takes 5 minutes to order and get out the door...??? Really? Don't stop if you are in a hurry... you'll just become frustrated.

What a fantastic find. Interesting and delicious real food. We had the soup, sandwiches and the rugelach (and my hubby loved the rhubarb-ade. Staff was lovely, and cafe was cozy and sweet. Recommend highly.
