Rustic cafe with Alaska atmosphere and the price is right. The menu is good and they offer a variety of entries from breakfast, lunch and dinner. Good place to start or end the day.

We ate here after flying off Denali. It is a large building just out of town opposite the fire station which was handy as just after we ordered our food the kitchen caught fire. This didn't seem to bother the cook and the fire engine roared over the road and soon put the fire out.
The 16oz steak we had was superb but we could not finish it after having eaten dried food for a week. Such a shame. Pitchers off beer went down well though.

This is where we go to get a burger and a beer... and to get caught up on the local gossip. It's rustic, and the owner's dog has his own couch at the end of the bar! The menu is broader than some of the other area restaurants, and there is always a daily special.

Yep, that's right, Prime Rib in Talkeetna Alaska. You can't beat it. They even served sweet potato fries and this Southern boy was in heaven. We walked the 3 blocks from the Roadhouse in -16 degree weather to get there and it was well worth freezing my tail off to do it.

This is more of a local pub/bar. Go here for the true local discussion and attitude. Away from downtown, however still close enough to walk. Solid menu and beer. Should go at least once.
