“It Rained But Still Had Fun”
Reviewed October 30, 2012

I booked the glacier landing flight for my husband and I. From all of the great reviews on Tripadvisor I was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately it was raining that day we had booked for. When we arrived for our flight the K2 staff was helpful, upbeat and they talked to us about the options that we had for the flight since the original plan to fly around Denali and glacier landing was a no-go due to the weather. We opted to still go up and fly. We took a shorter flight that went around the Talkeenta mountain range. K2 credited us for the original flight and charged us much less for the new flight. They were easy to work with due to the change that had to be made because of the weather. The plane was clean, easy to get in and out of, spacious and our pilot was great. He talked about the areas that we flew over and about the terrain that we were seeing. It was a great adventure to see what we did. Overall I was disappointed in mother nature - but not K2. They are a great group of people!

Thanks for your review since it shows what happens when the weather does not cooperate. Flightseeing is obviously much better when the whole mountain is out but the mountain range has much to offer even under less than ideal circumstances. Our pilots know the area very well and offer great tours even on gray sky days. Thanks for writing.

“Awe Inspiring”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

If you are in Alaska, K2 Aviation in Talkeetna is a "must go" excursion. It begins with a visit with friendly and helpful staff on the ground and ends with an awe inspiring trip to the skies. The planes are clean, comfortable, and easily accessible for everyone. The knowledgeable pilots guide you as you glide over the heights and sights of majestic Mt. McKinley. How many people do you know who have walked on a glacier!!! It will be a trip you will never forget!!!

“WOW!”
Reviewed October 20, 2012

Just, ermuhgawd WOW. Our pilot flew us right up to McKinley. The pictures and memories I have are for a lifetime. GO! Pretty drive from Anchorage to Talkeetna, too. Seriously, there are no words. You just need to go.

“K2: Denali up close and personal”
Reviewed October 15, 2012

While recently visiting Talkeetna from Venezuela, South America, we were privileged to contract the excellent aviation services of K2. Our pilot Scott flew us up close and personal with the Athabaskan Great One and its granitic pluton court, landing us on the "windex blue and tic tac white" Ruth Glacier where "the affairs of men never reach." Crisp air and a clear view: "everything so quiet and empty" and yet so suddenly full.

Our return to Talkeetna was argued by poplars, lakes, muskeg, swans and bear. Reason creates its own moraine and landscapes are forever changed. Thank you Scott! Thank you K2 for allowing us to fly with you!!

Thank you for your rather poetic review of flightseeing with K2 Aviation. Scott does a super tour of Denali and it is one of the wondrous sights in our world. We hope that you come back to Alaska someday.

“Unforgettable!!!”
Reviewed October 15, 2012

Let me preface this by stating that I am not a big fan of small planes. I had a very uncomfortable close call experience while flightseeing over Angel Falls in Venezuela, so I had some trepidation prior to our K2 tour to see the glaciers. That trepidation was erased roughly 1 minute into the flight; once we were airborne, I got a sense for what a treat was in store. The pre-flight safety precautions and impeccably maintained plane, coupled with our very knowledgeable and friendly pilot Scott put me at ease immediately. Prior to our K2 flight, I thought I had already been awed by what AK had to offer, but Denali and surrounding areas are so much more breathtaking from the air. The views were even more unforgettable thanks to Scott who answered all of our questions and provided insightful information about the history, geology, and wildlife of the area.
Thanks to K2 and our pilot Scott for an unforgettable experience!!!

Thank you so much for your review of K2 and our pilot Scott. We do have guests such as you who are afraid of small planes. With an experienced pilot, well maintained planes and good weather, small planes area safe way to see Alaska. We are proud that K2 Aviation has an excellent safety record and glad that you noticed how well maintained your plane is. We are glad that you enjoyed yourself.
