We went to an island for a picnic and saw a school of baby black tipped reef sharks. Very large lagoon with good visibility and white sand on most of the islands. There are still World War II wrecks from when the USA bombed the Japanese supply center both under and on top of the water. Beautiful and interesting place.

Simply the best wreck diving in the world, the boat was luxurious, the crew attentive, the dive guides brilliant and the captain flexible, accommodating, generous and good company. Simply couldn't fault the provision for divers, particularly for more adventurous divers requiring Nitrox/mixed gasses.

The Odyssey is the best way to see Truk Lagoon. There is no problem diving 4-5 dives per day. The crew is attentive and pays attention to detail and safety. The rooms are clean and the food always good. One of the best dive vacations ever. Try to get an island tour when you are back at Blue Lagoon Resort. Go www.divertrek.com to see pics

For the ultimate wreck diving experience, the Odyssey live-aboard sets the bar very high. The captain and diving staff's enthusiasm and knowledge for diving the many wrecks is well-balanced with their professional focus on diver safety. The daily dive plans are also lessons in WWII history. Exploring inside the encrusted ships and planes is the primary reason one should come here to dive, as the sea life and corals are still recovering from the bombs dropped 70 years ago and the overfishing today.

The ease of diving from the Odyssey will be hard to match -- we anchored directly above the wrecks, and simply stepped off the dive platform. There is plenty of room in the dive deck to store and hang gear and cameras, multiple lines to refill the tanks (nitrox included) and fresh towels.

The staterooms are spacious if a bit dated, particularly the bathrooms. I understand they are being refitted this year, which will be great--especially if they convert some of the space for cubbies/shelves/storage. There are 4 rooms on the A deck, which is the same as the dive deck (I preferred #3 or 4) and 5 rooms on the B deck.

The meals and snacks are varied and creative if not as adventurous (in terms of spices) as the diving. The cook and waitress couldn't be more lovely and welcoming, as are all the crew. I particularly loved that they used fresh ingredients (fish, vegetables, fruit) as often as possible and that the bacon was cooked to perfection every morning.

The wreck diving there is exceptional. Doing two weeks of back to back dives here and Palau, I have never had such interesting diving. I think I enjoy exploring wreck more than reefs, and thisis pretty much the pinnacle of warm water wreck diving
