Stayed in this establishment for 4 days in early February to attend a function. Booked it sight unseen from overseas. We were not disappointed it was very comfortable. We were given a unit with a seperate bedroom and a spa in the bathroom. We were intrigued to find three waste bins in the unit- rubbish, recycle and compost. We had not seen thgis in other motels in NZ.
The only critisism we had was the lack of security on the bathroom windows. They were the open out from the bottom type and their opening restrictors all malfunctioned. Meaning a person outside could open the windows to such and extent a person could enter.
Would recommend this motel to anyone wanting accommodation in Timaru.

Room Tip: Go for a room away from access stairs to the upper floor units.

Used to passing through Timaru I was surprised to find this accommodation on King Street more than anticipated. In town for work these premises fulfilled all of my requirements. A great room, very clean, and absolutely divine food from their restaurant. The hostess was very friendly and it is very quiet - away from the main road but close enough for a walk to a large supermarket.
This accommodation was a pleasant surprise and I would recommend people to stay.

The place to stay when you are visiting or passing through TIMARU. Let Cathy E. and her staff look after you. You will have everything that you need provided for you. Very modern accommodation + it's only walking distance to town. Professional and friendly staff. Countdown is just down the road for shopping and the TIMARU Botanic Gardens are only up the road for afternoon walks + a dairy in the corner for that cooling icecream after your walk. I have really enjoyed my stay at the ASPEN ON KING. I would definitely come back. Thank you Cathy and staff!
A MUST - to dine at Tussock restaurant - Fantastic food & room service!

Great place to stay while on business in Timaru.
Close to the Port, that's where I work when I'm here, and walking distance, around 30 minutes, to the main street in the CBD.
The Hosts, Kathryn & Wayne a great and make your stay comfortable & enjoyable.
They were very accommodating with changes in booking dates as I do this a lot with my line of work, even at short notice, nothing is a problem. One of the other benefits I find is that I need to scan and send documents while travelling and they both have been very helpful in scanning and emailing back to me documents and sometimes there are quite a few.
The Motel has a restaurant on site which is great and popular with the locals, Dave is a great Chef. All in all a very good and reliable motel with a great team running it.

Nice welcome, good service, quiet clean room although a little dated. bathroom small. Would have liked sky on 2nd TV in bedroom, but in the end a business trip not social:-) great to be able to get room service meal after a busy day.

Room Tip: go for rear of complex newer rooms
