A great place to visit, very interesting and well laid out they have a good variety of planes and of course good documentation of each plane. This is all well kept by the volunteers who spend lots of time keeping the Museum neat and tidy. Having been to Auckland Aviation Museum I would rate this along side Auckland.Well worth the short trip from town.

“Harrier Jump Jet in Ashburton!”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

I've always wanted to visit this museum and wasn't disappointed. I joined a small group with a guide who struck a good balance between talking and letting us look and wonder around. I was blown away by the Harrier jump jet in the corner. Display is well laid out and run by a dedicated group of volunteers. I allowed a good hour but a little more would have been better. Good videos running and plenty to read. The Canberra fighter bomber cockpit module is open so you can see the interior of where the crew worked.

“Fantastic place to visit”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

This is well worth a visit even if you aren't really into planes. As this is all done on a voluntary basis it is a real credit to all the people who spend their spare time putting together old planes etc and researching the history. Have great open days!

“Nostalgic Visit in Jan 2013”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

Run by very dedicated volunteers who clearly are more that happy to share this small piece of Aviation History with their visitors. They're even willing to go the extra mile and open up out of the regular hours if you are a genuine Aviation Fan.
