Thank you Jo for making our stay here so cozy and comfortable! This place is awesome and we are happy that we could help you out in the garden - looking forward to coming back and making this place more awesome than it already is :) The best place we have been to since we are here, clean, always hot water supplied and the showers are the best! Not to forget the yummy breakfast every morning!
We will never forget our time here thanks to you Jo!

What a blast, my family and I have stayed at Arawa Lodge several times now and we love it. The warmest place in Ohakune with an amazing host Jo, with her great porridge in the morning and lovely smile nothing seems a problem before heading up the mountain. Arriving back you have all the hot water you need to thor and a drying room for your gear. A bowl of Jo's famous soup and your ready to sit back and relax. ( a Vodka or two is always a good start). We would recommend this lodge to anyone wanting value for money and happy holidays.

Room Tip: All the rooms are warm with all basic needs for a holiday, you should be up the mountain anyway.

we loved Arawa Lodge - Jo goes out of her way to make you feel included, the lodge is warm and welcoming and comfortable. It was good value for us as a family of three, plus one friend. I liked how very clean the lodge was, how we were treated like old friends and how we found new friends. The sleeping end of the lodge was quiet - no rowdiness or stomping down the hallway. The drying room worked well. I am real fussy about food so brought my own organic eggs and sour dough bread, whilst my kids hoovered more than our share of all you can eat Lodge breakfast - cereal and tinned fruit etc. It was nice to be able to make my own food in the well appointed kitchen - there is even a crock-pot for the truly organised!

Thank you for taking the time to write us a review - and we are so glad Arawa Lodge worked for you all. We take our atmosphere here very seriously and always try to do our best to ensure our guests feel welcome and involved in the 'community' atmosphere whilst also being mindful of peoples privacy and individual dynamics... mostly it seems to work well with many amazing and friendly people who become like extended family, not only to us as owners but also within the groups staying here at Arawa Lodge. We pride ourselves on the standard of cleanliness and service our guests can expect here so it is awesome to hear it worked well for your family.
Special thanks to you for your help - it is greatly appreciated and made a huge difference - thank you so much. It was fantastic to meet you and your family.
See you again soon at Arawa Lodge Ohakune - hopefully for some amazing summer activities before next winter season

In August 2012 my son and I decided to go snow boarding in the North Island. We came across Arawa Lodge by chance and how lucky we were. From the minute we arrived to when we left we were treated with a beautiful warm hostess called Jo. She made us feel at home and the warmth of her manner kept us through the stay. The breakfast was a choice of two kinds of Porage, cereal, toast, fruit and yoghurt. We enjoyed it so much we spent a lot of time at the table instead of
Snow Boarding! There is a drying room for your wet clothes.
Finally a very touching thing was my son got injured on the second day and Joe phoned our home a couple of days after we returned to see how he was. 10/10

Our family of 4 really enjoyed our stay at Arawa Lodge. Good value with an excellent location. Our kids enjoyed meeting other guests and the kids ended up playing cards together. Good selection of movies. Our room was small, but we easily managed and weren't in there except to sleep anyway. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were clean. The layout of the place lends to a quiet night as the tv room & kitchen is at the other end of the lodge. Breakfast was a bonus with toast/cereals/porridge available. Jo is an excellent host. Have stayed in other accommodations in Ohakune, but finally found a place we will return to again and again. We highly recommend staying at Arawa Lodge and enjoyed our stay. Great find.

Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We are glad you were happy with your recent stay at Arawa Lodge and perhaps next time we can put you into one of the larger family rooms so you have more space. It is fantastic how the children (and the adults) all interact with each other at the lodge - a homely community feel within the lodge reminds us of our point of difference - something we hope continues forever more... It reiterates our mission statement of "arrive as strangers - leave as friends..."
we hope to see you at Arawa Lodge again very soon.
