Stayed at Station Lodge over Mardi Gras weekend. Had a fantastic time. They had all the facilities we needed. Very impressed with their environmental policies, friendly staff and public areas. Comfortable and quiet rooms considering big party going on outside.

My job takes me all over north island & the Station Lodge is highly recommended.Usually our group of 5-7 stay at once and with the large open kitchen, excellent showers , two lounges & so much room, after a hard days work we would always look forward to returning to the Station Lodge. Jane & Darren are very warm hosts always with a smile & with knowlegde of the area & outdoor back ground you are well looked after. With the beautiful warm rooms & to look out my window to a million dollar view, what more could one ask. The cute fire place that could fire up the main lounge in no time was a feature..also a dryer..lol Any work around Ohakune & we know where home is. Thank you to Jane & Darren :)

We recently held a family reunion of 40 people - ages ranging from 12 months to 65 years. 11 heated bedrooms (2, 4 and 6 beds/bunks) and great kitchen facilities. We received excellent service and all rooms were clean and well maintained. The location is ideal for families as it is away from the road (and with a view of Mt Ruapehu)! There is a barbecue available, a trampoline and spa pool.

we stayed at the station lodge for christmas, although its usually a winter destination, we found that there is lots to do there in summer. The hosts jane and darren have a great knowlege of the area and years of experience in out door activities. they have bikes avalible for use, which we made the most of when darren and jane took us up mt ruaphue for a 17 km bike ride down the mountain, wicked even for me who has not been on a bike for a number of years....
The kids loved the place they have a trampoline there and plenty of room for them to run around, the rooms are clean and tidy and there is two very big lounges and a great kitchen and a great out door spa to relax in after a hard days exploring.
if your looking for great place to stay while in ohakune we highly recommend staying at station lodge

We had a really nice and comfortable stay at the welcoming Station Lodge. While travelling it is a place, where you can feel at home. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful and provide a lot of information about all the activities you can do around Ohakune, especially mountainbike and hiking trips.
The Station Lodge is perfectly situated for two of the Great Walks in New Zealand. You can paddle down the breathtaking Whanganui River or go hiking in the Tongariro National Park, for example the amazing Tongariro Alpine Crossing, the Northern Circuit and the Round the Mountain Track and many other hikes of different length.
The big and comfortable lounge with flatscreen and a free dvd collection offers a stunning view at Mt Ruapehu. There is also a second lounge with games, books, tv and dvd and a table soccer.
All facilities are very clean. We especially enjoyed the dish washing machine and the different sitting options on the veranda and in the big garden. You can also relax in the spa pool.
Bikes can be hired. There are also two computers with internet access and a wireless hotspot.
