“Great experience outside Dubai”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

We arrived at Fujairah Hilton at 7am following more than 24 hours of travel. The staff at reception were really helpful and allowed us immediate access to our room.
The hotel has occupied it's beachfront position for many years and is well kept and ideally located. The beach is nestled between two breakwaters and was very clean, I had not been sure what to expect. The view to the sunrise and horizon is punctuated by distant rows of oil tankers. The pool is lovely and the two tennis courts are superb. There is a large relaxed lobby where wifi is available. our room was large with a deck, lounge and two bathrooms. Breakfast was delicious and served in the poolside restaurant. There were plenty of umbrellas offering cool outdoor tables.
The hotel is approx 3 kms from the nearest shopping centre, but the taxis are very cheap to the large City Centre shopping mall at the other end of Fujairah, less than 10 dirhams.
We used the very helpful travel service in the hotel lobby and Kis took us on an interesting and informative day trip around forts, an old mosque and a wadi (water spring).
it was a refreshing change from Dubai and a lovely drive from Dubai.

Dear Kiwisfly,
Appreciate you share your positive comments with us. Happy to learn you found your way to us from Dubai. Signage from Dubai to the new Sheikh Khalifa Highway is not that great, truth be told. So if I may clarify for all -
Getting there: From Emirates Bypass Road (611), take the Sharjah-Kalba Road (S116) and follow the signs.
You also found your way to the new City Center, I understand you went by taxi. We should have advised you we have a buss going two times a day free of charge from hotel to Fujairah City Center. For your next visit! Regards, Remco

We took the Chalet for us, one night stay. Chalet was very close to the beach, but the hotel lacked all customer service aspects. No turn down service, towel replaced after repeated asking, absolutely no housekeeping. Minibar had old chocolates - almost expiring... Towels provided with torn and worn out. TV reception was bad all channels were hazy. The first day, we went to the beach and there was no one to assist (no life guard too)so we used our towels from the room, but when we asked for replacement from housekeeping they asked as if we were sure and how many we need. When they did replace the towels the used onces were not collected.

Highlight of the trip, Beach was fantastic. Relaxing..we got up before dawn to see the sunrise.. water was cold and warm later... But swim at you own risk as Life Guard was no where to be seen. Our room came with Breakfast, served at Al Ghorfa Restaurant, was good, hot and cold options with live cooking stations.

Suggestion: Go for the beach, but for an expensive Hilton the hotel was a total put down. Pay a little more and go to another hotel in the area.. Many to choose from..

Room Tip: If you do still choose Hilton, take the Chalet it closer to the Beach and you can hear the waves in...

Dear Faryal l,
Thank you for your stay and your feedback, it is much appreciated.
I sincerely apologize for not achieving our normal service standards in terms of housekeeping. I can assure you the same has been addressed with our team.
With respect to life guards: we do normally speaking attend the beach but do indeed not guard it around the clock. We do guard the swimming pool during opening hours as per UAE law. Our life guards are trained and certified for life guarding and first aid incl. CPR.
Glad to note you enjoyed our breakfast and the beach.
The rates for our rooms are sometimes high on weekends when we are in high demand, this is true. Check out our Advance Purchase offers to get really good value, and book April onwards e.g.
Thanks and regards, Remco

After checking all the reviews here before going to the Hotel myself, I had higher expectations....probably because the Hotel looks old or not that new....might need some fancy modern renovations to push its credit upwards...and need to improve the beach area.

We went there to spend the valentine day and spent the night there.

Our room was very nice and clean, with a pool, garden and ocean views...and even though we went back early to the room, we weren't bothered by the live music being played at the beach cafe.

Staff are very polite and professional...Special thanks to Denise Heins (Front Office Manager) who take good care of us, arranged everything as i wanted and even better...checked us in in exactly 60 seconds.

And thanks to the polite Mani...the concierge :))

The hotel welcomed us with cold towels, cold drinks, we had a heart shaped cake and a fruit basket to welcome us in the room.....breakfast and dinner buffets were super amazing...the varieties were fine and the quality is super.

we preferred the pool area as the pool was nice and big, sunny all the time, and more fun than the beach...mainly due to the muddy sand nature of the beach area, and the lack of chez-lounges and umbrellas, except for a side area on the grass.

I wouldn't mind staying there again except for that the old essence of the place makes me believe there might be more luxurious hotels for the same rates i.e. better value for money.

Room Tip: Go for a second floor pool and ocean view...and avoid ground floor chalets.

Dear MohamedElAshram,
Thank you for staying with us over Valentines and I am happy to hear you appreciated the touches with the theme. Thank you for your nice comments, especially about our staff and recognizing Mani, Denise and Chef - for his great buffets!
The property is from 1978, which has for some its charm and for others means it is outdated. From our side we do our utmost to keep the property we are proud of in the best shape.
Look forward to welcome you back!

Lovely low level hotel at the sea's edge. Every thing close together and very comfortable. Excellent staff and service. Good for business or pleasure. I stayed for business purpose but brought my wife. She was very comfortable remaining during the day while I was at working. the atmosphere is very relaxing and with everything close together there no long walks from room to hotel etc. Loved it. Will definitely come back.

Myself and my wife have just returned after spending a week at the Fujairah Hilton. We arrived late at night and accepted the room that was allocated on the second floor. The following morning we requested to change rooms, absolutely no issue, staff allowed us to view several other rooms, we opted for room 33 on the ground floor, close to Breezes bar, the restuarant and close to the seafront, it was lovely to lie in bed at night and hear the waves breaking on the shore line probably only 20 yards away. I believe that the staff in this hotel make it a special place. From the general manager Remco, who was always available and asked us daily if there was anything he could do for us, to the housekeeping staff, we could not fault anyone working in this hotel. Just to mention a few - Benny, who used to bring us water melon and mint on a skewer while we were sunbathing, Karim the bartender at Breezes, Denise the reception manager, all the restuarant staff and the chefs who cooked excellent curries for us on 2 separate evenings eventhough they weren't on the menu. This hotel does not set out to compete with the newer more swish Dubai hotels. I can honestly say that this little hotel is a gem. We spent our last night of the vacation in the Jumeriah Hilton in Dubai but I can assure you that we would prefer the Fujairah Hilton any day. The only small criticism would be the fact that smoking is allowed in the English pub. Other than that our week's vacation was special and we will definitely be returning to the Fujairah Hilton.

We visited the Hilton in Fujairah in January and have to say it was really relaxing. It had a really nice atmosphere and all the personnel who work there were very friendly and helpful. The outside pools and surrounding areas were immaculately kept, the beach bar was so comfortable and friendly the food was really good and the beach was lovely. There were plenty of options for sun bathing, whether you wanted direct sun or shade. Everything was catered for.

This Hotel is such a good chill out after the madness and frantic pace which is Dubai, so I would recommend a combination two stay holiday for the ideal.
