“older hotel with good service”
Reviewed July 21, 2011

We stayed there for a weekend getaway. I personally think this is nothing for a longer stay - if you experienced other beaches before. The "beach" is only a accessible on low tide, all loungers are on grass areas and you can't lay in the sand. the water quality and color is not what we are familiar with from the Dubai/Abu Dhabi beaches.

for a value for money weekend getaway its perfect!

Room Tip: all of the rooms have balcony and sea view!

We booked a chalet( one bedroom ), we were 4 adults and a baby , the sofa bed in the living room was not that much comfortable, but not too bad .the staff was very nice with the baby ,we enjoyed the sea and the swimming pool ..in general it was a nice week-end
I have two complains only: 1st : during night we needed one more duvet we tried to call room service no answer then the reception no answer ,finally we called then as an external call and then they provided the duvets in three minutes .
2nd complain : the sink was leaking !!!
in fact there was a delay in the check in but they brought us (as an apologize ) a nice fruit basket and a bottle of white wine

Fabulously friendly and helpful staff. I would recommend this hotel to any one who wants a low key and relaxed break. I've lived in the UAE for almost 3 years and the staff were fantastic. Better than Dubai!

I have used this hotel for years but am now saddened by the negative changes that I see.
Unlike in Dubai, the hotels in Fujairah don't show inclusive prices on their menus and activities, so allow another 20% in tax and 10% in service charges. Two cups of cappucino were 57AED!! The restaurant food is now very overpriced and the selection has greatly reduced, but not the quality. The recently refurbished rooms are now very good, but everywhere else in the hotel is tired and worn-out. The sunshades on the beach and around the pool have been replaced recently, but there are not enough of them. Guests have to spend too much time to find a shaded spot. The staff continue to be very good, but Hilton has stripped=out a layer of management tha thas negeatively impacted on food and beverages and general maintenance.
I am sitting in my office toiday looking at my Hilton receipt and am very annoyed by the ridiculous sky-high pricing; for goodness sake, this is supposed to be a family orientated older hotel. so why charge premier prices for an (at times) mediocre service?

Our party of 8 booked the hotel minibus from Dubai airport in the morning. Well, it did not show up. I called the hotel a few times, and after a while a guy showed up with my name - and his old crappy Toyota Hiace with too small space for baggage. Probably the hotel minibus I ordered and got confirmed was busy with someone more "important"? Well, the price was the same, and no excuses. The hotel was overbooked, so I got a room upgrade to a chalet which was spacious, but smelled really bad (result of years with moisture...). I switched to a suite the next day, but this smelled bad as well. But we just kept the balcony doors open to get some fresh air in so that freshed up the suite well.

The food and service is above average at the hotel, no complaints there (well a bit overpriced though). The pool was also great, and it was heated (which is not common in these areas). The beach is not nice due to all the tar from all the oil tankers passing this area - and probably cleaning their tanks now and then... But I am not afraid of tar as long as the hotel supplied tar remover tissues. The sea was really fun swimming in due to the waves.

The hotel is really quite, and filled with tourist which are there just to get some tan and sun. So for us it was a relaxing and good start of the vacation. But I have been around, and this could really be cheaper. It is not a 5 star resort in any way - for that it is not well maintained. But its not a bad place. It is just not worth the room rates.

And of course: when are high priced hotel chains going to offer internet complimentary as cheaper hotel chains are? Just stupid amount of money to pay for 24 hrs of internet on Hilton hotels (but I was aware of that).

This is a surprisingly pleasant hotel, which has pretty much everything you need for a relaxing holiday. You can be as active or as laid back as you like: there is a nightclub for so inclined, also sports equipment to borrow free of charge (tennis, golf) and courts to play. Or just chill by the pool and enjoy the facilities (massage available). We were upgraded to a chalet (2 room one story house a bit on the side of the main complex) so had a really good comfortable stay. The toiletries they put out are so nice! The only thing on the downside, restaurant and bars are quite expensive and they slap a 20% tax/ service charge on top of it. Options for eating out could be limited to an Iranian restaurant across the road, or if you have a car, Pizza Hut and KFC in town. We didn't try any local restaurants. Having said that, the hotel offers some really nice options but on a dear side. Just to add, as well, the service was amazing. We were there only for 3 nights, but the staff knew the kids' names and bent over backwards to make us happy. I would wholeheartedly recommend the place!
