First of all, Jardin de Semra is not in Datca. It is actually on the west end of the waterfront street in Palamutbuku, which is at least a twenty minute drive from Datca town. Palamutbuku is filled with waterside restaurants, but two different locals recommended Le Jardin to us. At first I was a little put off for the simple reason that it is across the street from the water and not directly on the water's edge. However, I was quickly impressed when I saw the beautiful vegetable and herb garden in the back. It's that garden that makes Le Jardin literally and figuratively the freshest and most local spot along the street. Our lunch of several mezes and some kofte dishes was filled with ingredients just pulled from the garden. Everything was very good and fresh as could be.

We were overcharged by quite a lot for a couple of very ordinary chicken salads. The waiter ammended the bill once we pointed it out.

We had a late lunch at Le Jardin de Semra. We were the only people there which is a shame because it deserves to be continually busy (maybe it was just the time of which we ate and it was also Ramadan).

Both meals were fresh, light and local produce was used from the garden. The proprietor introduced herself to us and made helpful recommendations.

We ate at le Jardin de Semra this September when we were moored in Palamut. Semra is a warm and generous hostess. The food could not be fresher, most of the vegetables come from the garden behind the restaurant. The dishes are traditional Turkish with an added Western European flair. The service is great, the food fresh and tasty with lots of veggie options. Beautiful views, free wifi, super clean showers and WC. No pressure - lots of time just to chill while sipping a free cay or Turkish coffee.
The special dessert of warm figs with almonds and ice cream are delicious.
