“Best choice for your holiday in Datca”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2012

At the center of the town but on a pedestrian side street so no noise of traffic, etc. Value for the money. Essential amenities are available and you do not pay for the extras that you do not use at all. Clean. Staff friendly and helpful. If you do not want to use the sand beach in front of the hotel, there is a blue flag gravel beach just 100 metres away where you can have your morning swimming before breakfast. Open buffet breakfast for every taste. Do not forget to taste Turkish cheese rolls freshly fried. Recommend sea front rooms from where you can have the nice view of the bay and the beach. Most fish restaurants within a walking distance. A large grocery store (Migros) just round the corner from where you can get your daily needs. We will certainly come to Datca next summer again and will stay at Fora.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms with nominal price difference are recommended.

We spent three nights in Datca, at this nice hotel.
The staff is very friendly and they helped us with all the questions and the requests we had.
It was very very warm at that days, However the air conditioning system is not noiseless and so we managed to have a very good sleep.
From the balcony you can see the beach and all the restaurants on the seaside.
We enjoied it.

This is a great hotel, very smart and comfortable and such good value, right at the sea front and just at the edge of the main town. Excellent service, clean and comfortable.

Room Tip: We were on the 3rd floor and ceilings are quite high being an old building,so a lift would have been...

The Fora has the best position in Datca, overlooking the bay, the town and the mountains. it is a great and relaxing place to have your holiday with the beach just feet away and lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance. The staff at the Fora gave a first class service and were always happy to help with any thing we needed or any tourist information that we asked for. we will defiantly be going back there again.

Room Tip: The sea view rooms are the ones to go for as they have amazing views.

We live just 2 hours drive from Datça, so it makes for a good weekend beach getaway from farming life inland. Whilst there are superb beaches and bays all around the Datca peninsula, the town beach is also not bad, esp with a 4 yr old in tow.

The beach is mainly sandy, the water is shallow for kids and very clean. There are restaurants and cafe bars along the beach-front which provide sun loungers and shades in exchange for your custom. Fine by us, we lazed outside the Mamboccino cafe for 2 days with full service of snacks, drinks, and cappuccinos :)

The hotel is superbly positioned, situated literally off the main high street, with a large free car park, and the other side is straight onto the beach. It is simple, spacious and very well decorated throughout. Someone obviously has an eye for decor; not your normal builders choices was our impression. The hotel rooms are like small suites, which was quite surprising for a small town around here. Prices were competitive too, so reckon we'll be back as they are also one, if not the only hotel here that is open all year round.

Datça is a gorgeous little town (15k population excluding tourists), set around several beautiful bays at the foot of some spectacular mountains. There are plenty of lovely, vibey little bars and restaurants open until midnight around the bay and the yachting marina. it has a glorious microclimate, with average daily sunshine of 11-14 hours from May through to September, with humidity in the comfortable 60%s during the summer months.

I've lived here for 7 months, the last 4 of those *very* happily and comfortably at the Fora. I've looked at just about every hotel and pansiyon in town, and I don't believe the Fora can be beaten on *any* of location, accommodation, value-for-money, or service.

Hotel location: amazing. The Fora is just off the main street of the town, overlooking the beautiful central bay (Kumluk) with its sandy beach, right opposite all its bars, cafés and restaurants.

Accommodation: I've seen inside a lot of it, and it's all big, bright, airy, clean, with air con and TV. Half the rooms have a gorgeous view over the beach and the bay, which is well-worth the little extra. On the second floor are the apartments (with a kitchen), on the first floor the rooms, and on the ground floor reception, the lobby and the café.

Staff: The staff are all Turkish and couldn't be lovelier or more helpful. The hotel is owned and run by the mayor of Datça and his family. They are kind and honest to a fault. (In fact, the site of the hotel used to be their family home.) One member of the reception team, Anil, speaks very good English, and the non-English speaking reception staff will phone his mobile if they require translation.

Facilities: the hotel offers great rooms, with some views, great service and lovely breakfasts in their café. Anything else — boat trips, water sports, tours, etc — the reception staff will happily help you organise.

The hotel doesn't have a pool but who needs one — the bay with its soft, sandy beach is just 20m from the hotel. The clean, clear, turquoise water is a perfect 25-26C from July to September, and over 23C even in June and October.

Room Tip: Due to the shape of the building, the sea/bay view rooms 105 and apartment 205 have smaller balconie...

When we came to Datca, all of the hotels were closed during this time. However, we found this hotel by chance and it was OPEN! We stayed 2 nights. It hugs the waterfront and is close to the main street, near restaurants and cafes'. It's 95 TL (about $ 60) per night with two rooms, balcony, and fabulous ocean view. I never write reviews, but thought this hotel was worth writing about. Breakfast included: bread, olive oil, coffee, tea, jam, cheese, olives, cookies, etc. Very friendly staff and town. Nice and safe. Free parking if you have a car.
