We stayed at Dalyan Garden Pension for one week in July 2011. As detailed in previous reviews, you really can't go wrong here. Modern clean rooms, a fantastic pool and a warm welcome from Cathy and Ercan. We did not attend the BBQ as we don't eat meat, but it sounds like a good time was had by all. Osman's boat trip is a memorable day out, which includes visiting the Caunos ruins, turtle watching, the beach, lake and mudbaths. All in all, a top quality holiday base for a good price.

Trip advisor helped is pick our holiday here in June and we always post a review when we come home. This time it's really hard to know what to say because it has already been said. Everything was fabulous, the friendliness of Ercan and the girls, our room, the pool and gardens, the surroundings the breakfast, Osman's boat trip ... what more can I say, definitely worth a visit!

We had the most fabulous time at this wonderful little oasis on the outskirts of Dalyan town. Cathy and Ercan are the most hospitable, warm and welcoming hosts that anyone could ask for. There were many highlights on our trip but some of the most memorable are the BBQ night at the hotel, the wondefulr boat trip with Osman and riding the hotel bikes into town and along the river. The perfect end to the day was sitting with our fellow guests and our hosts and their lovely son talking and laughing (and there was lots of laughing) about our day's experience.

Dalyan is a beautiful place with many excellent restaurants. All the locals that we encountered were, like our hosts, welcoming, kind and eager to share their knowledge of the town, the food and local customs.

Any regrets? Only that we did not have much longer than the week we spent here.

Having enjoyed our break in Turkey, we looked forward to coming home to continue life amongst the grandchildren. But having got here, our stay at Dalyan Garden Pension is still prominent in our thoughts.

We weighed up the opinions on Tripadvisor where contributors were unified in their praise. One guest with us pointed out that when you read accounts on Tripadvisor of how nice this place is you get the impression it is a tidy boutique hotel. It’s more like a private residence.

Our room, no.10 on the first floor, was bright and airy, of totally adequate size with high ceilings and very efficient air-con. Hot water in the spacious shower was consistent. There were plenty of fresh towels every day.

The very large firm bed was so comfortable it would have been easy to stay there of a morning but that might have meant missing the fantastic breakfast, mentioned by other contributors here, which was served at the tables placed in shade at various places around the garden overlooked by a whole range of brightly coloured flowers.

The size and depth of the pristine swimming pool seemed perfect for its location and there was a large open-air jacuzzi alongside it and also a shower to rinse off on the way to the bar, which served an assortment of snacks throughout the day.

Overall, Dalyan Garden Pension is a very well-run establishment with happy owner Ercan and his very capable young staff Yagmur and Burgin looking after guests in the most pleasant and friendly way, seemingly effortlessly calling us by our first names from day one and throughout our stay.

By the time we left for home after 14 nights there, we felt we’d known Ercan for years. A true gent, very knowledgeable football fan (we’ll excuse him for supporting Fulham) and interesting conversationalist all round. We spent many pleasant hours chatting at the garden bar with Ercan and the other guests who were all very friendly and, to a person, pleasant company.

Some of us watched Wimbledon live daily in the pleasantly cool sitting room which also had a fair-sized paperback library, and Yagmur and Burgin were always available to make us Turkish coffee, Nescafe, or apple and regular teas.

Thanks to Ercan, a number of restaurants in Dalyan provided free transport for us to eat out in the evening.

Ercan’s boat-owner friend Osman took us on a great day trip up and down the river and out to sea off Turtle Beach. Some of our group left the boat for a short time on the river to see historic ruins, while the friendly and helpful Osman gave a few of us a lesson in how to catch crabs from a reel with a line hanging over the side of the boat. The five crabs we caught in the space of half-an-hour were served to us by Osman at the barbecue Ercan lays on for guests once a week.

We saw places like the seemingly affluent lakeside town of Koycegiz which made the expense and effort of using a car hired through the pension worthwhile. We were thus also able to visit places off the beaten track up to a few hours’ drive away, reluctant to put too much pressure on ourselves, and small restaurants in villages in the mountains were all welcoming and generous.

Thanks to Ercan, his staff and friends our holiday was totally relaxed. So many of our fellow guests were returnees, and we now look forward to returning ourselves.

My friend and I wanted a quiet, relaxing break during the Easter holidays and liked the look of Dalyan. We could not have chosen better. Being at Dalyan Garden Pension made our stay the gorgeous, magical holiday we had longed for. The hotel itself is in a beautiful, secluded spot with incredible views across to the mountains. The garden and grounds are so well cared for; in the evening the air smells of jasmine and orange blossom.

Ercan is the consumate host. He was welcoming, friendly, fun and helpful right from the start. Whether manning his bar in the garden and chatting over a glass of Raki or cooking a feast for us on the barbeque, he was always charming and considerate. He organised our boat trip for us - with the wonderful, wonderful Osman - and a trip to a local Turkish Bath where we indulged in some serious pampering.

The breakfasts were superb - homemade bread, slices of cheese, fresh fruit, olives, pastries, eggs and coffee. Sitting by the pool to eat was such a lovely way to start the day.

Bikes are available to borrow from the hotel and we made full use of them, peddling in and out of Dalyan and along the road towards the coast. Everything seemed very accessible and all the bike routes were full of interesting scenery - citrus groves and mountains, roadside goats, storks flying overhead and terrapins in the ditches.

Our stay in Dalyan was one of the best holidays we've ever had, and this was largely due to having stayed at Dalyan Garden Pension. Just magic. We will be back soon!

I so enjoyed my 7 night stay at the Dalyan Garden Pension. Ercan could not have done more to make me feel welcome. Travelling on my own was a daunting thought but everyone was so friendly, and my fellow guests were great.
The room was clean, comfortable, cool. I got used to the rooster and the call to prayer in the early hours. Breakfast was enormous, the staff were really friendly. The pool was huge, the garden gorgeous. I really enjoyed cycling into town for lunch at the Dalyan Iz and Osman's boat trip is not to be missed (nor is the BBQ - a really fun evening with great food - and even some dancing!).
As an earlier reviewer commented, this feels like a home, nothing was too much trouble. I can truly recommend this place and I want to come back!
