“More should be done”
Reviewed September 25, 2013

More should be done to protect these from damage as they are slowly disappearing year on year. More should be advertised that behind them is the ancient city of Caunos

“The iconic attraction of Dalyan”
Reviewed September 24, 2013

The tombs cut into the rock face across the river from Dalyan are the must see of Dalyan and hard to miss anyway. They can be seen from any boat trip to Turtle Beach where the boatman will often stop for a photo opportunity with river and reads in the foreground. You pass under the tombs on the road to Kaunos. However the tombs are seen easily from the riverside in Dalyan and are much photographed. Lit up at night they add a touch of romance to dinner at a riverside restaurant. Some may say spooky but would you go to that much trouble to house your loved one when the time comes!
Local guides and the books will give you the history, personally I just like the spectacle and the thought of the changes they have watched over since times BC.

“The Dalyan Landmark”
Reviewed September 22, 2013

We visited the tombs many years ago on our first visit when you could still climb up into a couple of them. I didn't as it seemed unsafe and it was shortly after closed off. There is nothing much to see there so best seen from the distance when they are spectacular - particularly lit up in the evenings. Such a wonderful landmark for the village.- we look for it every year and take some more pictures !!!

“Cant beat seeing it for yourself”
Reviewed September 22, 2013

We went on a boat trip to see the rock tombs, visit the mud baths, see the loggerhead turtles. The trip is great the guide entertained us all the way and made us all laugh. Once at the tombs the boat stops in the reeds so you can take photos quite closely. It was a beautiful day and the boat trip is a good experience. On the way back they stop to try to coax the loggerhead turtles up from the sea. We managed to see one of these beautiful endangered creatures. Loved it.
