Stayed in Dalyan, and could see the rock tombs from my balcony. Never tired of looking at them, lit by the early morning or late afternoon sun, or tastefully lit up at night, these tombs dominate and define Dalyan. Don't go on a tour, get rowed across the river by Dada and friends 4TL return, and walk 5 minutes to the cemetery, where you can view them a little closer than on the river. The tombs are carved into the rock, very high up, how the ancient civilisation carved them, with limited tools, is almost unbelievable. I think its possible to climb up and go in the tombs, but we didn't do this, content to look from afar. (It also looks quite dangerous to climb up there!) On the way back, have a pomegranate or lemon juice or a snack at one of the riverside cafes, run by locals from their back gardens! A must do in Dalyan.
