Walked to the ruins of Kaunos on a hot day. Easy path apart from the small section at the end which was a bit steeper. Great views of Dalyan from the top. Small cafe with drinks and snacks available. Tours also available in different languages. A great place to visit for all ages although not suitable for those with mobility issues

A really nice quiet place
We drive around on a motor bike.
Up and around the mountain.
The roads are so long and the views a must see

A little heads up If you go along the river bank past the boats as though your heading towards the rock tombs, there are ladies with rowing boats that will take you across the river for 15TL per boat return As you're helped off the other side there's a couple of restaurants that encourage you to pay them a visit on your return You will feel obliged to but believe me its worth it I had the most amazing chocolate and banana pancake washed down by a pomegranate juice my husband had a cheese and potato one with an iced tea I couldnt manage all mine so the ladies wrapped mine up to take away We also purchased a jar of olives We paid 75TL for the entire lot Anyway i digress They point you in the right direction when you leave the boat and its about a 30 minute walk You pass the entrance for the actual Kaunos Tombs but this was locked when we went so we carried on to the antique villiage We loved it The views were amazing from the highest points The entrance fee was 14TL and we spent quite some time there There is a small cafe and toilets but make sure you take water with you We went relatively early but it was still hot x

You can view the tombs from the canals of dalyan, we were on small boats going up them as part of a tour from Marmaris, although you can't get out and go on foot, the are also remote so boat is probably as close as you can get.

It is better to hike to this location than just see it from the boat.

The whole feeling is very interesting and takes you back to its origins.

They have shops up to get water and snacks.

Have to be accessed by boat.
