“HONEST one of the best Hotels in Turkey”
Reviewed October 10, 2012

We have been holidaying at Keskin since it opened 14years ago so we know it better than most we have been for 2 weeks in june this year and 1 week in september ,The picture above is not the keskin Dalyan .For the price its brillianrt it doesnt pretend to be 5star and if you want that be prepared to pay the price and go to the Hilton in saragerme near dalaman .Towels are changed every day and replaced frequently to expect them to supply them for the pool and beach is ridiculas unless you want to push price up again. The food is typical turkish with a great choice of buffet in evening for as little as £7 per person its not manchester or dagenham dont expect brithish nosh tea coffee are free .If you want all inclusive go to marmaris .The staff are all very friendly and try very hard if you talk to them they all have good english which is better than most tourists Turkish ! they are one of the main reasons we keep going back there is free shuttle boat to beach couple times a week the location by the lake is one of the most scenic in the resort .Cats some people dont like the local cats however its better to have them than be rat infested like Zante in greece i know i have been.If you want a snack at lunch you can a lovely chicken or fish salad for about £2 but there are many other snacks available. They don't charge much for a large bottle of water which is little more than a small bottle in the supermarket. As for the drinks they are not expensive and we have never ever been charged too much at the end of the week. It's much better than carrying cash all the time when you are around the pool. as for a shop onsite its not a campsite!! Some people expect far too much for their money and are ridiculous, at the end of the day the hotel and thomas cook have to be profitable. The biggest amount of the cost is the flight not the hotel. By the way we have travelled all over turkey and thailand. We have stayed in 6 star hotels and to be honest we love the freindliness and tranquility of the Keskin. We feel some comments are totally unjustified. Kevin & Maria

Excellent value, room spotless, food very good, staff hard working and very friendly. Short walk to town along the river path.Recommend hiring a boat with skipper for the day, well worth it, had a fantastic time, with delicious lunch ask for Vedat ( the one with two fingers!!).

Room Tip: ask for new block

Arriving at 3am was no joke, having booked a double and put into a twin with stained bedcover, dirty, smelly sink and broken sharp drawer handle at shin level but too tired to argue till next day.Told at reception there were no doubles in the new block available for 2 days so took one in the older side the next day, only to be greeted by a trail of ants in the room! Now, don't get me wrong, this is a lovely place and generally very clean but other reviews say the food was poor and sure enough, it is. No covers from flies when they put it out and no free drinks with any meal, not even water so we dined out all week having paid for half board. I'd go again but on a room only basis. Read other reviews as there are lots of good reports but the icing on the cake was just missing with all the silly rules being imposed. Here are some examples:
The cleaners were lovely and worked like slaves but other hotel staff need to learn to smile.
You cant pay as you go at the bars so you're charged to the room, so keep a close eye on your spending; it mounts up.
You cant pay by card so keep cash back for the end of your stay and remember there's no nearby cash machine except in town.
You can't take hotel towels to the pool and none provided pool side so be sure to take your own.
You can't use your own food or drink pool side, have to buy it on site.
You can't cool your own drinks in the room fridge, not even water. If you leave it in, the cleaners will remove it.
There's no hotel entertainment, only the bars for something to do in the evening unless you go into town.
There's no shop on site or nearby and it's a 15 minute walk to town.
So don't be put off, it may look like 5* but feels more like 3.

Just got back from staying in this hotel. The hotel is very clean. However, if you do not like cats and dogs it may be better to avoid staying here as the animals, I guess mostly strays are allowed in the dining area.

This hotel is wonderful value for money. It is spotlessly clean with beds made and towels changed every day. Staff are friendly and incredibly hard working.
Breakfast is totally adequete if a little similar each morning with fresh fruit, cheeses, cold meat and breads together with a limited hot food range (no bacon but sometimes spicy sausage and beans!)
Advise people to take a travel kettle as there are no facilities in the rooms but this is the only bad thing I have to say about this hotel! The rooms are spacious with plenty of storage space. We were in the 'new' block - lovely.
Have to get up early to put towels out which is a shame but that's people for you and most days there were still spare sunbeds at the end of breakfast
Breathtaking scenery and loads of really readonably priced trips help make this a memorable holiday.
We went bed and breakfast and this was just right as ther are many good restaurants in Dalyan a 15 min walk from the hotel.
Would recommend this holiday and will definitely be going back

Room Tip: Ask for the new block - a little smaller and quieter with a great pool bar with the lovely Ilyas

We have just come back from a week at the Keskin, we stayed B&B. It isnt as some people indicate "perfect" but it is a very good budget hotel, it is clean and very well maintaned. The rooms are cleaned daily and the pool areas are well mantained as are the grounds. The staff around the hotel during the day are attentive whilst not being intrusive and if its too much trouble to get off your sunbed and go to the bar then you wont have to wait long for one of them to take your drinks order. We elected to pay our bar bill every day, usually it came to between 15- 30 lira and we never found any errors on it.
The hotel is located as other reviewers have mentioned about a 10 minute walk from thetown centre (7 minutes if you are hungry) where the choice of food and restaurants is significant, and very well priced.

We booked a night time BBQ trip from the guy sitting next to the footpath on the way into town, his name is Eric and the trip he sold us cost 35TL, is was the best money we have ever spent, he runs the trip every Saturday an Sunday, you get collected from collected the hotel about 6.45 and the boat retruns about 11.00 at night, GO ON THIS TRIP if you like a romantic evening with nice people eating great food, take your swimming things and dont eat before you go.

We were sceptical of Turkey this time as we had stayed in Hisonaru last year and didnt get a wink of sleep for a week, so we contacted the hotel in advance to ensure we got a quiet room, the hotel to their credit did as we asked and put us in room 227 which is away from both of the bars, but noise really wasnt a issue, the mjority of the residents in the hotel were middle aged and not looking to spend their holiday keeping everyone else awake, it was a very pleasant experience all round.

Will we go back to the Kskin? The answer is probably, as I cant really see a reason why we wouldnt. Will we go back to Dalyan? The answer is definately, its 25 mins from the airport and largely free from tattoed women from the cities of northern England.

The day you go home you need to be aware that you are expected to be out of your room by 11.00 am, if you have a night flight as we did the cost of keeping your room forthe rest of the dsy is £45 not 45TL and the hotel does not take cards, some guests thought this was unreasonable, i dont think it is, but you need to consider it if you are on a late flight.

This was our first visit and after reading the many positive reviews we were eagerly anticipating our stay which unfortunately for us, started with a late night arrival. The young night receptionist did not seem to have a good grasp of English and also was unclear about our room request via the travel agents. We were then taken to a room (217 I seem to remember) which I can only describe as abysmal - holes in the sheets and pillowcases, broken shower door with subsequent water everywhere, no top sheet on the bed only a rough quilt type cover and finally no hot water !
As it was now very late we hadn't the stomach for an argument so postponed that till the morning.
Next day straight to reception and met with the manager 'Ferhat' who apologised and changed us to another room without quibble. It seems that some rooms in that block (overlooking the small round pool) have been refurbished but some have evidently not, so be aware and request an immediate change. We noticed during our stay a few people doing this so it must be a fairly common issue. Apart from the bad start the rest of the week was fine without room problems although if you wanted English TV you'd only have the 'Bloomberg' business channel for company. As some one else has said a kettle would also have been useful. Otherwise I can only reiterate the positive comments about the hotel and the helpfulness of all the staff who go out of there way to make your stay enjoyable and especially Ferhat the manager. All in all a good reasonably priced hotel in an excellent location a short walk into the centre with the weather an added bonus. Dalyan itself is pretty much your average tourist trap town with gift shops and numerous places to eat along one main street with local shops clustered around the back streets where you can also find the local bus services and car rental outlets. Everyone was however very polite and friendly with maybe the waiters outside a little too welcoming sometimes ! All in all a relaxing break in a beautiful location.

Room Tip: Morning sun comes from the road side so as no blackout curtains in rooms choose the opposite side if...
