“Unbelievably friendly!”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

We travelled independently and had booked the Dolunay Apts that we had stayed in last year. The day before we travelled I had an email to say they had overbooked and we were being moved to the Fatih Apts.

Well, we arrived at the apts at 11.30pm and were given a 3 bedroomed apt for 2 of us! It was huge, and was in the older part of the complex. The family were very accommodating and Rose even cooked us something to eat at that time of night. Rose is an excellent cook, and her sons Fatih and Khan are friendly and helpful.

The pool area isn't massive but we prefer going to the beach anyway so it wasn't a problem for us.

There is a Turkish night every couple of weeks which was good fun and again Rose's cooking was superb. They also had a BBQ night which we didn't go to because we had a trip booked that night but was apparently very good.

The family seem to know everyone in the area and are happy to make phone calls and get you picked up. We had a Turkish bath at the Sahin apts and Fatih arranged for us to be picked up and dropped off when we wanted to go. They also reconfirmed the return travel arrangements for us.

The rooms were cleaned regularly and although the kitchen facilities are fairly basic it's not a problem as we ate out every night. It was adequate for us to do a bit of brekkie and keep the beers cool!

Aircon is £4 per night - Dolunay charged £8 last year so this was much cheaper.

When we left, Rose gave us a bottle of delicious home made lemonade to take with us which sums up the warmth you get from this family and I felt we left them as friends. If (when!) we return to Dalyan, we will stay here again.

Just back form our 6rh visit to Fatih's place and as always it was superb!! we were welcomed by Fatih who is the apartments manager(also the owners son).It was like home from home, the rest of the family came to welcome us, Nothing is a problem for Fatih,Rose or the younger brother Khaan, who also works the bar and takes your cases to your room for you, whils't the rooms aren't massive they do the turn, last year when we were there we decided to eat in our room.Whilst there wasn't a lot of room to cook or eat we managed fine, our kettle packed in this year,I took it down to the bar to inform Rose it was broken, two minutes later I had a replacement kettle. The pool isn't the biggest of pools, but its ample enough for the size of the apartments, and yes you sometimes need to be up earlyish for a sunbed, but you can usually get one,(we always did. In our two week stay we met four other couples who were all return visitors, one couple had been coming to Fatih's for 12 years, so surely that says something for the place. We travelled independtly, Fatih organised our transfer to and from airport, again this was not a problem for them. The village of Dalyan is very much a working village, if you plan it right and look around you can eat in the same reastaurants as the locals and have proper Turkish food!! If your looking for a family run freindly place to stay in Dalayn you cant look any further that the Fatih apart hotel, after all a good lot of guests are return visitors.

This hotel makes a very good advertisement with nice photos but when you are in your room, you understand that this is not an "apartments hotel". You can do anything in the apartments. It's quite small, you can't cook and even eat on your balcony because there is only a small table of 35 cm. When you ask to change the table because you prefer to take your breakfast in your room, the owners are not happy to do it. When we said also that the room is too small, they answered that we are the only ones who are not happy with their hotel and did nothing to make us feel confortable. Instead, they send us a representer of the travel agency who tried to sell us tours and was not really interested in our problem. All this conversation was with Fatih's mother. When he came to the hotel, he did not even try to meet us nor our problem, to discuss with us if he could do something.
After that the whole stay was a nightmare. We were ignored in the hotel. Owners didn't say us "good morning or hello" if we didn't. I looked for a lot this friendly family explained in other reviews.
In fact, they are double-tongued and janues-faced. They seem friendly if you are friendly. They are friendy if you eat in their bar, if you consume, drink etc. I'm turkish native speaker and I heard them once to say about us, "they don't worth the interest, they have no money" !!! Therefore, when they organised a Turkish night, all hotel was invited except us. They did even not understand that we boycotted them and didn't buy anything to eat. So, for them, we were poor.
Bedding quality is not very good. The pillows are too high and can hurt your neck. For people who don't like high pillows it could be really difficult especially when owners would change anything in your room. They don't care your comfort really. Some other people told us also that they asked 2 more chairs in their room for their daughters, they have never had them.
Swimming pool is nice in the photos but not so grand and also not so clean. They are always hairs inside. It is impossible to get a sunbed if you are not an early bird. Behind the swimming pool there are some wooden places half closed in which you can sit with your towels but it is also not clean. The first day, children did a chocolate spot on cushions and it was never cleaned. Our 7 years old girl had no sign of sympathy from them while Fatih was passing his day to be nice with the other tourists' children.
At the end of the 4th day, it became really unbearable to stay there because of the unfriendly and hostile atmosphere and we decided to move to an another hotel. The owner tried to bill us for 9 days of air condition ! He told to my husband that he respects his customers if they respect him and not the opposite !!!
In Dalyan, there are several nice family hotels who don't try to hassle you like them. They are sincerely friendly not for money but because they are simply nice Anatolian people, happy to welcome you. We are going to Dalyan every summer since 2002. Everytime was a dream, we did a lot of friends, we were always happy with our hotel but this one was a real nightmare. I advise people to never put feet down Fatih Apartments. Just go to a simple hotel or home owner guest houses, you will also have the same services but with friendly and sincere people.

The photos of Fatih's apartotel show you the pool, the beautiful gardens, the fabulous open-air dining room and bar etc but what they don't show is the warm welcome you are given by Fatih and his family. We felt we'd been singled out to be 'new best friends' but in fact everyone there felt the same way! The other guests were all friendly and almost without exception were return visitors - that will be us in a couple of years time. It's a pleasant level walk to the village centre and the river - if the road gets too hot on the way there are bars to stop at. Dalyan village is beautiful - the night-life was lively but not the alcohol-fuelled embarrassment of some other resorts (although the local 'Efes' beer was delicious and so was the wine!). The Lycian tombs and ruins on the other side of the river provide a bit of culture and the turtles are amazing. Something for everyone here - we're already saving up to go back and will definitely stay with Fatih and family again.

Room Tip: Our ground floor room was very shady but that was nice as it was still very hot in September. We ha...

Just had two wonderfull weeks with rose fatih and kaan, they made us so welcome. There were two adults and a 14 year old it was a late booking so we got one bedroomed appartment so our daughter was on a sofa bed which didnt leave us much room however we spent hardly anytime in the appartment. Other than that it was very clean with maids every 2 days clean towels and bedding. All the guests very friendly and it was nice to sit at the bar after a "hard" day and chat with them and fatih and family.Kaan is so likeable and quite entertaining. Dalyan itself is lovely plenty of bars and restaurants all flat and easy to walk took no more than 10 minutes walk to the centre but bars etc on way, the busier part of town is at the other side.If taking travellers cheques be warned only one bank and post offices dont change them, the bank charges 20 tl per check (£8) so take high denominations not £50 or you will be fleeced. I have always said there is too much world to see to go back twice to the same place but here i would make an exception not just for the place but more the family that looked after us. If you have already booked look forward to it you will love it if not book now.

We were booked to stay here for 4 nights in July (which we booked and paid for in February) but on arrival we found that our apartment had been given to another family due to a double booking. The hosts put us up in another hotel with 1 free breakfast for the inconvenience. We got a chance to take a look at the apartment the following day (which is small but clean and well appointed) but decided to carry on staying at Tufan Apartments to avoid the inconvenience of moving.

This is our 2nd year in Dalyan and at Fatih Apartments, and yet again a fantastic holiday! Fatih, Rose and Kaan are brilliant hosts who just want you to enjoy your holiday and do whatever they can to help you do that!
Rose provides delicious homemade food and fresh juices and is such a lovely lady.
Kaan is more involved this year and is just hilarious, his English is great to say that last year he spoke so little!
Fatih organised lots of activities this year, BBQ and Turkish Night are always good, but this year he did a boat trip and turkish bath for the blokes.
The apartments are basic but very clean, new bedding and towels every 2days. Dont expect to prepare a full meal, but no need with the price of food there!
The walk into town is about 15 to 25 min depending how far you venture in, but a taxi is just 10tl anyhow.
I cant imagine going anywhere else now in Dalyan as it really is like visiting family.
The only "downside" this year was the inconsiderate use of sunbeds by some visitors. There are very few sunbeds, so if towels are laid out at 7am then beds unused till 4pm it does tend to provoke some irritation! This is not at all down to Fatih, nor did we encounter the same situation last year.
This wont put us off returning next year because there are still many more positives, not least the home from home atmosphere and warm welcome that await!
