8 nights commenced 4 July 2014. Very near perfect. Peaceful, not many children, lush riverside setting. Like being on the Amazon.

Small means no rush for the padded loungers. Lovely gardens. Bean bags and hammocks. Blue crab fishing on the riverbank decking.

Friendly sincere staff. Excellent service. Delicious and value food. Branded drinks from the poolside bar. Spotlessly clean everywhere. Free new pool towels everyday.
Short walk to bustling town. Fabulous riverside restaurants and bars.

Giant Nile turtles in the river.

For peace and quiet and a touch of luxury. Perfect. Simply perfect.

Stayed: July 2014

Just returned a 5 night break with friends. I agree with others, it really is very relaxing and peaceful, the pool is beautiful and the whole hotel us spotlessly clean. The staff that we encountered were really nice and friendly and can't do enough for you even finding sun beds! As it is a small hotel you make friends very quickly and felt almost family like. I would say that the rooms are very small, unless you upgrade to a suite which our friends (who were there for 8 nights) did. Our room faced the new hotel which has been built and was very dark with no sun - the upper level floors have no balcony, we had a very small terrace. The food is nice however there is not much selection, and they are a bit stingy with the portions! Breakfast was ok but having to pay for your orange juice is a bit of a rip off I think, we didn't bother. Lunchtime selection of food was good, well presented and reasonably priced. The hotel is within a 10-15 minute walk of the town which iis nice with the usual selection of shops/souvenirs we went on a boat trip which we rented privately via one if the hotel staff and this was lovely, don't bother either turtle beach though lots of sunbeds and that's about it! All in all it was a relaxing shirt break but it would have been nice to have had a little bit of entertainment at night, maybe just a guitarist or singer for an hour or so? Probably won't return, as we do prefer Lanzarote and the canaries. It was our first visit to Turkey.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a suite!

We are still here on holiday for 4 more days to go before we return to the UK. I strongly recommend Dalyan Resort Hotel for those of you who are looking for a relaxing holiday here in Turkey.
The staff are amazing and can not do enough for you especially Ali who looks after the pool. He is truly a top class bloke.
The food is excellent although being a man from England I did miss the traditional English fry up!!!! But never the less I do like the Turkish cuisine. My partner absolutely loves the sweet bar area for the evening meals, mind you saying that most of the people staying here spend a lot of the time studying what desert they would like.
Everyone here are friendly to each other and many people are Dutch, German & English. But all are here to enjoy the scenery, the pool, and of course the pool bar when it is beer o'clock time.
The rooms are great and the room staff clean daily and change towels etc daily. Each day when we return the bedding is arranged artistically differently and also roses on the bed as well just to add the romance of the area.
As I said earlier we have 4 days to go and now that my breakfast has settled its time for a dip in the pool.
Cheers to who ever reads this
Norm

Room Tip: We had a pool view from ground floor. Excellent

Such a lovely, relaxing, peaceful and friendly place. Clientele made up of generally maturer people are only a couple of older children (foreign I think). Always a sun lounger available and staff always keen to help with every little request. Special thanks to Ali for the towels and trips over the river and Manus the barman who concocted various cocktails for us. Waiters always friendly and some particularly cheeky. Food, very varied and very tasty. Desserts of a bit sickly for me but for the people that like the gateux style desserts, all good. Rooms lovely and cleaned daily. Remember that there's different wifi for different areas of the hotel, Turkey ten minutes is anything up to an hour, that the air con won't work if you open the windows, get reception to jolly up anyone that is late especially your transfer to the airport, you will need mosquito repellant and that there is free squash next to the not free fresh juices! Especially would recommend this place for maturer couples who want a quieter week relaxing. There is no evening entertainment apart from strolling into town for a few drinks. We went on a few trips - Turkish baths, Turtles and to Saklikent, all very enjoyable :-)

Room Tip: Deluxe rooms have an extra single bed type room, not really needed. Nice to have a garden or pool view but not essential. Sometimes the hotel behind has loud music into the night but don't think anywhere would stop you hearing it.

Arrived home on Tuesday after spending a week at Dalyan Resort Hotel. This was our second visit, the first being three years ago. It is said `never go back` - but this time that saying was proved wrong! Other contributors have remarked on the rooms - and they really are worthy of a five star rating. This time around we had an executive room, which really is two rooms - one with a single bed - and the other a king-sized comfy bed, with the bathroom in between. Air-con in both rooms. Last visit in 2011 we had a garden room with its own private terrace, which was equally as nice.
The pool is superb - really clean, easily accessed, and a good size for serious exercise if that`s what you want. There is also a kiddies pool, very near to the adults and sun-loungers surrounding it, so just right if Mum and Dad want to use both pools in safety. Towels provided, but best to hang on to them every day, as sometimes its a short wait to get fresh ones daily. Ali, the wonderful poolside and garden guy was not so evident this year as 2011, but as there is some building work going on (not obtrusive) and it is still relatively early in the season, this may well have been why. However, he is worth seeking out, as he is the most wonderfully helpful guy you could meet, and will bend over backwards to bring you sun shades, sun-beds etc. He truly is an asset to the hotel.
We had half board this time - last time just bed and breakfast. The food is good and plentiful, although breakfast is catered more for our continental friends than British. However, you can get a really good omelette, with choice of filling, fried egg and pancakes most days, but you will have to wait a little, as these are made to order. There is plenty of bread and cereal and yoghurt too, as well as much coffee and tea as you want. You do however, have to pay for fruit juice. Evening meals offer a choice of two to three mains, lovely soups and an array of salads. There is also a freshly cooked meal on the outside barbeque nightly, which was also good. Desserts are super, but calorie laden, so watch it if you are trying to maintain or lose weight!
The gardens that surround the hotel, go right up to the waters edge, and have really comfortable seating areas with shade. Lovely to sit and watch the river taxis go by, and cooler than poolside. Do however, remember your mossy-spray as you can get bitten when using this area.
The drinks from the bar are good and well priced. If you attract a waiter poolside - they will deliver your order to your sun lounger, so you can really relax.
The staff are lovely, especially in the restaurant and do their very best to make you happy. We witnessed them delivering food to some tables (its self-serve normally) if any of the diners were elderly or infirm in any way - which was a nice touch.
There is a little family run shop nearby (about 10 minutes walk) where you can buy most things you may need and daily papers which is good. We found that their dog walked us back to the hotel at night if we shopped there! (There are a lot of dogs in Dalyan, but although they take themselves off without their owners, for the most part, they are pets and not strays and we found them all waggy-tailed and friendly)!
The only small criticism I can offer, is that the television in the room only has BBC world news and an American news channel. As there is no evening entertainment, it would have been nice to have had an English speaking film channel - as - after reading all day poolside - it would be good to relax with a film and a glass of wine. Perhaps the management would consider this in the future?
All in all though, we love this resort and hotel and would definitely come back again. We even met up with and recognised others there who had been holidaying at the same time as us in 2011 - a testament to having had a good past holiday! Go enjoy this place, the warmth of the sun and the people, and a restful, comfortable hotel!
