“no shade”
Reviewed September 9, 2013

great beach, especially from the boat end, sand lovely , no stones, but no shade, athough parasols on beach, they are of wicker and the sun came straight through, there is a cafe with lots of bench seats to sit in, also toilets and changing huts
if getting buss this end has cafe, toilets, changing huts, also tress at end of beach that provide shade, this end has the turtle hospital which you give a dontation to enter,

“Amazing!”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

Sand, sun and turtles. Perfect. Everything you need although can get very busy so go early or late. beds 9tl for 2 for the day. Couple of snack bars quite clean nothing major. Respect the beach read the signs, the little turtles are hatching do not touch the nests that are all around you, literally! And wear footwear the sand is burning hot.Travel by boat to one end from Dalyan or car and bus to the other. Please try to visit the turtle sanctuary amazing work going on there. No entrance fee just a donation if you want to.

“Didn't see turtles but this beach was great”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

We had a great time at this beach and took some great pictures in the morning. Look out for the two little trees which provide natural shade against the sun.

“Beautiful place”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

We visited this beach on an organised Thimsons trip. It was certainly the highlight of the day as the rest had been very disappointing. It takes about half an hr to get there by boat and only ope between the hrs of 8am and 8pm due to conservation issues of the turtles. The boat trip takes you past the ancient Lycian Temples which are carved into the rocks and then onwards to the turtle beach. I was a bit sceptical about seeing any turtles, but I was very pleased to say that we saw several turtles swimming about in the river. Turtle beach itself is a beautiful beach, on one side it is fresh water and on the other the salt water sea. Conservation is a big thing in this area and all the nesting places are secured by protective cages. Information on the various turtles in the area can be read about and there are sun beds and a small cafe where snacks and drinks can be bought. A very nice visit!

“Busy but still lovely”
Reviewed September 7, 2013

This beautiful beach can only be reached by boat (half an hour past Lycian Tombs) - which is probably just as well as it would be even more busy. However it is huge and there was plenty of space for all - including the turtles. Was heartened to see the protected turtle nesting sites being looked after amongst the tourism. As our boat neared the beach on the Dalyan river we were lucky enough to get a sighting of a turtle that lives there.
Sand is very hot - you can't cross the beach without shoes.
We liked that there were free changing huts.
