After living in the UK for the past year it felt so good to have sand under my feet again! The beach is excellent for swimming, I could have swam for hours in the surf which is very warm. Sun beds are available, but there's nothing wrong with a towel on the sand for free! Also had a quick swim in the lagoon on the otherside which was even warmer than the sea. Beautiful trip on boat through reed beds on the river on the way, a must do!

Beautiful long beach which has protected areas where the sea turtles come out and lay their eggs. It is easily accessible independently using the public water taxis which leave from the river in the town. Sand is very hot though, use the wooden walkways!

You can get a taxi boat for 10 lire from Dalyan, 9 lire for a 2 sun bed and a umbrella, nothing can get wrong, the travel it's beatiful and the beach clean, you can see the are where it's the turtle nests and at the end the beach the turtle hospital.

This beach is not open to th public after 20.00hrs as the "turtles return to the beach to lay their eggs. This is a protected beach for this reason and is patrolled. You are able to spend the whole day under a "brolley on a sunbed" but there is a charge for this. The beach has a small restaurant with "changing booths" & toilet facilities with a comunial shower. As the sand gets really hot in the sun you are advised from the boat jetty to follow the "boardwalk" to the beach. As this beach is approx 4 miles long there is plenty of room for the amount of boats that pull along the jetty fom visiting the Crab catchers and seeing close hand the "largest turtle" goaded by a "fish on a string" to surface for photos on the freshwater side of the beach !! At the far end of the beach is the "turtle hospital" which if not taking an organised trip you are able to visit by means of the public bus from Dalyan "bus station" in the town square.
The best novel souvenier bought from the restaurant is the "Starbucks" style paper coffee cup with a picture of a "turtle" in the middle (replacing the Starbucks logo).

Incredible beach, good swimming, a few cafes, excellent efforts to support the sea turtles and their nests.
