“Beautiful location for a relaxing holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2013

Bc spa
Arrived mid July for 9 days b&b. First time in Turkey for my husband and I.
Our 18:30pm Thomas cook flight delayed 2 hours from manchester, not good for a night flight but more shopping time. Arrived BC Spa at 4am and thankfully check in quick n easy, one form to scribble out & passport photocopied. Escorted to our room in block 3. Had a pool view to front and building works to side. Room was very clean with 1 double and a single bed, just for the two of us so plenty big enough. Walk in shower with complementary toiletries, namely sink soap and small shower gel (which doesn't get re-filled -so don't rely on this alone (not that us ladies would!!)) Large wardrobe with wooden hangers and dressing table. Small fridge and free safe/aircon. You can't leave aircon on when your out as it's controlled by the room key fob & it can't be removed.
No tea/coffee making facilities in the room so would recommend taking travel kettle if your a tea junkie.. Small balcony with 2 chairs n table, chairs not v comfy, small & wooden, we later asked for chairs to be swapped to larger wooden chairs with cushions (which we noticed other rooms had) & this was done within a couple of hours. Would recommend taking citronella candle for balcony on an evening as you will get a few pesky visitors. I got a few bites, but may have been from ants which tend to be around - check the floor when your sat in the restaurants :-/ Lots of dogs and cats about too which wander aimlessly around and are looked after quite well.

Breakfast- adequate.
Tea/coffee/hot water (if u like to take your own herbal teas etc.,) Fresh orange was extra at 5TL.
Boiled eggs, toast/bread, jam, butter, melon, cucumber, toms, olives, cheeses, cold meat, sausage, cereals, yoghurt, preserves, chocolate spread - this sort of thing. My opinion - not really 5star, could benefit from fruit juices on tap and more fruit selection.
Guests staying h/b complained of lack of choice so b&b best option. Take breakfast at the shaded tables next to the river and watch for turtles & take in stunning mountain views.

Spa area, underground, was v nice, spotlessly clean, housed a swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna (out of action several days) all free for residents. Gym with several running machines, cross trainer & plenty of weights. Freshly juiced orange, pomegranite can be had while lounging for 5TL. Enjoyed a hamman & felt all was well in the world afterwards! for only 30TL a must. Although i would have preferred a lady masseuse, just my preference.
Other massages included are Aromatherapy 50TL, Swedish 60 TL, Deep tissue 60 TL & several others, quite popular with guests. No pedicure/manicure service, just the various massages. Lots of places in town offer these.

Poolside is lovely, lots of loungers, some of which are under a wooden overhang which shades u nicely from the midday sun. No having to drag parasols along here. Pool open from 8am. No separate kiddies pool. No lifeguard. No diving (not deep enough). As previous reviews note, music can be a bit out of place for such a spa hotel, would prefer 'chill out' music, not party/disco music. Lunch can be taken here but can't review as we didn't. Toilets and showers close by. Garden lounge area with hammocks and bean bags.

This place has a tranquil calmness about it, far enough away from the centre to be peaceful and close enough to visit the many restaurants & shops where there's plenty going off to suit all. No evening entertainment here apart from the tiny vocal frogs we thought were ducks!!

A Walk along the riverside (to your left with the hotel behind you) takes you passed the many restaurants all touting for your business, I find a quickened pace, no eye contact (or sunglasses) and sweet smile works as you hurry along. 5 mins and your in the centre where u can hire cars, push bikes or scooters at very reasonable rates from £10/day. Take your wits with you as traffic weaves in and out of the busy centre, could benefit from being pedestrianised in places. Nice square in centre with line of restaurants, ice cream parlour and wooden benches to sit and while away your holiday.

Money
Post office is a good place to change your cash, no passport needed and great aircon! Signposted PTT. From the centre. We got 2.9415 / £ on 15th July. Compared to 2.60 back home a few days prior. In general we worked prices out on 3TL/£ which is not far off. In our 9 days we spent around £500 on eating/drinking and some supermarket/market shopping, uncharacteristically cheap for Europe, possible because of the lira and not euro.

Ventures :-)
Many tour guides selling the various boat trips & land excursions. Can't comment on land excursions as didn't partake, but do the usual jeep safari trips etc., Lots of boats docked ready to whisk you off, either private, co-operative or public boats. Different prices so check a few before booking. We took the public boat to a local market (with unpronounceable name beginning with K) for just 20TL each return, pleasant trip (took about an hour). Departed 10.30 & returned 3pm. No party vibes/games/loud music going on, just what us 40 something's wanted- if your happy just to chillax and take in the amazing scenery, would recommend the public boat. Market 'K' was a great way to pass a few hours, mainly undercover from sun. We bought some yummy cherries and peaches, juicy & refreshing.
Lots of similar stalls, keep looking and spot the stall selling t-shirts 4/30TL, great value or even better value 4/£10 sterling. You can spend english money here, I think they prefer it. Check clothes/t-shirt sizes as XL more like L. Same market comes to Dalyan on a Saturday if your not keen on boats.

We took the public boat (look for signs on harbour for public boat) to the popular turtle beach, cost 10TL return. These leave frequently as and when the boats fill up (around 20 people) Takes around 40 mins or so to get to the beach and returns from beach end frequently as and when it fills up, last trip back is 7pm. Very busy beach which has a large shaded cafe area with snacks & drinks (reasonable prices), toilets and changing rooms. Also lots of sun beds and parasols (not sure of charge if any).
NB There are two ways to get to the turtle beach, either dolmus bus (not far from Bc spa) which takes you directly to the sanctuary at one end of the 5km beach or the boat which takes you to the other end of the beach. You can walk to the turtles which takes around 45 mins if you chose the boat option, which we did - very pleasant walk, beautiful & scenic with mountain backdrop, lovely breeze which calmed the suns heat. Turtle Sanctuary is Free to get in but donations gratefully received. Dolmus charges about 10TL & leaves frequently (around half hour intervals) back to Dalyan, or you can walk back to the boat, nice stroll and doesn't feel like exercise at all :-).

From the far end of the harbour in Dalyan you can take a rowing boat over the water to 'the other side'. If you stand here someone will come to take you across. Hubby ventured over one morning, it was powered by a lady half his size with Popeye muscles! 4TL(return) took about 2 mins. You may get asked for tips on your short trip over. From this side hyou can see the tombs clearer and walk up to them. Also a graveyard and a spattering of cafes. If you are intending to walk up you need sturdy shoes/trainers. Hubby spotted a funnel web spider's nest complete with spider and a skin freshly shed from a local snake (how psychic of me not to join him). Could spend a couple of hours on 'the other side', not much more.

Food
We dined out every night alternating with the top ten restaurants as named on trip adviser. Didn't have a bad meal. Special touches were complementary tea/coffee, dip starters & bread or indeed free cake :-) - check reviews under restaurants, lots of info here.
Our preference for lunch time snack was Dalyan Iz.. where we had a lovely salad and Freddy's chocolate biscuit cake (delicious). (Airport survival packs can be purchased here for 18TL - sandwich, muffin & fruit). There is also a small kiosk in the centre selling cheese/tomato sandwiches in cling film for 3TL and chunky apple pies for 3TL which would also be ideal for airport as heard its v expensive.
Evening meal perhaps not much in it but Four Seasons, in the centre, stands out for freshness and complementary starter & coffee. Prince of Caunos on the riverside, first restaurant you get to when walking along the river from hotel, very reasonable prices and lovely comfy chairs, you can easily spend a few hours here just chilling. Baileys coffee here is 7TL compared to around 12 in other restaurants and is lovely.

Drinks
Drinks in general, the ever popular local Efe beer served is generally between 5-7TL. This will be for the light beer, dark Efe is more expensive and not as readily sold but v nice if you like Guinness/stout. Restaurant prices are approx 6TL+ for wine, Cocktails from 10TL, Mohito 15TL. Nescafe up to 5 TL, Fresh orange/pomegranate/peach juices etc areound 5TL, just as a guide.
Supermarket cost for dark Efe is 4.95TL. Water is very cheap around 2TL for a 5 litre bottle, you will need plenty, easy to grab a bottle on way back to hotel.

Sure I've missed something but easy to go in and on when you start. All in all hubby & I thoroughly enjoyed our time at BC SPA, the location next to the river, cleanliness, friendliness of staff, relaxed atmosphere and spa facilities all combined to make our first visit to Turkey an enjoyable and relaxing one. Not for groups of kids, more for couples who like the relaxed pace of a holiday with the addition of spa to boot. Glad we chose the B&B option tho.
Enjoy :-)

Hadnt booked anywhere when i arrived in Dalyan, and was quoted £25 for some grotty looking place up the road, checked this place online and got a room for just over £15 a night extra, for a poolside room! Everything is clean and bright, and new looking. Staff friendly and helpful, spa area looked great and good value, but sadly sunburn ommitted me from trying. Nice location next to the river, and back exit to bars/restaurants. Downside would be choice of music by the pool, and breakfast. Unattended service meant milk and water left to get warm and no juice of any description.

Room Tip: Go for a poolside room.

I wanted a decent Turkish Bath for myself and family. BC Spa was suggested and we were very pleased with what we found. The Spa facilities looked great as we walked in and we were greeted warmly. We were quoted 30 TL (about £10) each which is about right. However, we then found this also includes used of the Sauna, Steam Room, showers, mineral pool, jacuzzi and you could relax with a drink if you wanted! We went in the Sauna, Steam room, pool and jacuzzi before each having an excellent Turkish bath, amongst the best I've had although maybe a little quicker than others? We didn't stay at the hotel but the facilities looked good and the location on the river was lovely. I would give the Spa 5/5 and would love to try the hotel! Well worth a visit.

Overall great. A very nice pool area and excellent spa. Reception were very helpful. Food was good generally although the breakfast was a little limited. There was building work going on but it was not particularly a problem.
Only 2 downsides. Firstly the pool side bar staff played awful chewing gum pop music which was often disturbing. Secondly the bedroom was a bit on the small side with a low ceiling in parts. Not ideal if you are over 6 foot 2 inches.
It would not prevent me returning however.

What an amazing experience! After coming to Dalyan for the last eleven years and having many Turkish baths this was definitely the best and most reasonably priced. The facilities are simply breath taking and with full use of a huge sauna, steam room, showers, pool, jacuzzi and of course the Turkish bath you can easily spend half a day there. The staff are all very friendly and ad happy to show you round any of the hotel if you wish. We were shown the honeymoon sweet and as I'm not very easily impressed it was a shock when I walked in and could only manage a wow! Truly incredible room! Would seriously consider staying here in future and would definitely use the Turkish bath again

We are staying in Oludeniz and after doing a day trip to Dalyan last year we thought we'd return and treat ourselves to a night at a spa hotel.
When we arrived the receptionist was quite curt with us, this could have something to do with the fact that we were a group of 5 below the age of 40. We were told our rooms won't be ready until 2 o'clock, which we had no problem with. We went to sit down by the pool and after 10 minutes we were shown to our recently built room which were evidently unfinished. One of the rooms showers was incomplete, still smelt of plaster and the other rooms balconies had filler all over the floor and no seating area. There were also cockroaches in the room. The rooms were of good size with a good AC unit, fridge and wardrobe. The rooms were next to a building site and an unfinished pool. It felt as though they had purposefully put us out of the way of other guest. We are not a rowdy bunch at all and were really looking forward to a peaceful stay. The next day at the pool wasn't much better we overheard another hotel guest bragging about her intimate encounter with one of the hotel staff in the sauna. Needless to say we decided not to go in the sauna. The same guest and member of staff were later seen disappearing into one of the empty rooms next to the pool for some time. Not very discreet. The gym was adequate. We decided to have some lunch and were given mouldy bread and we've been charged various pricea for the same drinks. It's such a shame. This place has so much potential.

Stayed in a few dalyan hotels (see reviews) but this is our favourite so far. Perfect location from the town center only 2 mins walk but very quiet and set in a wonderful position beside the river and great views of the mountain. We didnt eat there but what we saw being served looked and smelt great. Staff were all very friendly and helpful particularly Oscan who has a great sense of humour and happy attitude which enhanced our stay. Rooms are very clean and comfortable with air con and my must have - a great power shower. Highly recommend the bc spa but not the cheapest hotel in town.
