Lindos Pension and the Dalyan region were perfect for us. Nic wanted sea, sun and sand while I wanted some interest and nature as well and neither of us wanted a concrete monolith plonked on a beach. We basically searched the internet and hoped for the best, but we need not have worried as this place has it all!
A wonderful unspoilt beach accessed by river taxi through a nature haven of a reed bed, a turtle sanctuary (as Iztuzu is a breeding beach for Loggerhead Turtles), a wide clean river to swim or kayak in via Lindos's decking, rock tombs, ruins at the pre Roman port at Caunos, Hamams, mud baths, traditional barbers and tasty food at a wide variety of restaurants.
Lindos has clean, tidy rooms, a super shady garden and is so relaxing that spending all day there is a pleasure (especially with the complimentary afternoon tea and cake.) Breakfast is eaten overlooking the river and the rock tombs and it sets you up for the day perfectly.
Levent and Pembe really are very amiable hosts and Pembe's fab home cooking (offered every other night) is not to be missed!
